Help Please 75 T3 Bosch 157 starter gear / pinion assembly
« on: September 09, 2017, 09:28:08 AM »
So....Stupid me....I pulled apart the gear because it was not working because the whole bike was under 8' of water during the flood of Lee and Irene in the NE. Unfortunately I did not look closely before it sprung apart.
The question is what order do the springs, washers, etc. go back together

r

I know the spring (#1)  goes on first and the binder and clip go last (#5 & 6)..

The order and positions of #2, 3, &  4.

Thanks
Paul

Thanks Roy
This pic looks closest.

Gregs is different with 2 tabs that the arm engage.

I went thru a many articles and pics as I could stand.
.
The real issue is that ring/spacer/shim #2 fits into the #3 washer (with nylon) but not into #4. (the ID of the 2 washers is different ).
When put together the way it loos like it should go it is to fat to fit into the fork. When put together the way it fits the #2 ring pushes on just the center of the #4 washer but fits into the fork.

Soooo.... Unless someone comes up with something different, Ill put it together the way it fits in the fork and looks like the above pic and see if a bench test proves me right or wrong.

Thanks again.
Paul
