What you are seeing is that my odometer is 4.5 km out in 490.
That’s less than 1%.; Not bad I reckon.

1% is outstanding! My 2014 KTM is 10% high and I have aftermarket ABS rings awaiting install.

On one screen it says 485.4 on the other it says 490, I suspect they are both derived from the same accumulator in raw counts, its just that one divides the counts by one factor and the other uses a different factor. There is only one pulse input although with ABS there are two, The rear wheel pulse train is the one used for odometer on the V7III and your Norge.

Sorry, I didn't realize you were comparing the bikes Odometer to a GPS, in that case its amazing they were even close

My take on it is like this.
The GPS knows where it is to within 40 metres. You can see that by how far it has to go to realise it needs to recalculate if you ignore a command.
The track length therefore, is known to a high level of precision.

On the other hand the on board odometer derives it’s distance travelled figure by the circumference figure of the rear tyre x the number of revolutions.
Altering the number of slots, alters the odometer.
Ask me where  I learned that to my cost...!



Interestingly enough, I think the rear tyre circumference appears via Guzzidiag and is maybe adjustable, but I don’t know.
