Odd Duc in Tucson
« on: November 18, 2022, 04:31:13 PM »

A team of Ducs were out enjoying the weather outside of Tucson this weekend, and I spotted this odd Duc among them. Although they don't burble pleasantly like a Guzzi, I do enjoy that Desmo clickity-clack.

I was riding with these weirdos.

That's no odd Duc, that's a Paul Smart Sport Classic.  Worth about twice what they sold for in 2006

Wish I would have kept my multistrada 1000 BUT I’m happier being back on a guzzi.

I'd rather be touring on one of those Maxi Scooters.

Looks like the gas station in Sonoita.  Probably headed to one of the many vineyards in the area. :boozing:

Ha, you would go bankrupt if you bought gas there more than once a year. I hope you rode down to Parker Canyon lake from there.

That's music!  When new and properly adjusted, I think they sound like cassinettes.  Once the plates get worn, they start to sound like hammers!

Its amazing Guzzi Gal, how far you folks travel on your scooters! You guys were down near my "stomping grounds".Very Cool. I rode a 2 stroke Vespa a couple of weeks ago, and want one. Even though it was only a 50cc machine, it was such a hoot to ride around town, I didnt realize what I have been missing. I do need one that can reach highway speeds, though. I guess that means a GTS. I am amazed at how expensive they are, in comparison to the big wheel scooters aprilia and Piaggio makes.
I have been watching some of your Sonora Sun Riders videos, what a fun, diverse group!
Rick.

Vespas bring pretty good money and it doesn't seem to matter how old they are either. I would like to have one parked in the garage also. I check ads from time to time, no deals too good to let go by.

Ding-ding-ding, we have a winner! :thumb:

I have a friend who's big into vintage Vespas & Lambrettas, and he has a '20 GTS HPE he wants to sell. New just wasn't his cup o' tea. PM me if you're interested in more info.

Here is a pic of the "Battleship". If you look closely, you might spot Warren, a riding-buddy I met here on WG.

No Lambretta's featured yet...and I am sure there will be MORE Vespa's coming up for auction at MECUM in Vegas, January 2023.  This is one example... :thumb: :boozing:
