I am looking to purchase in near-future/future a V11 Le Mans, and one of things I am a bit worried is stock clip on height/position.- In the worst case, how easy/costly is it to raise bars ? ( and maybe lower pegs as well? )Please share your experiences/ideas etc..Thanks.
Lots of great resources here, but if you want 24/7/365 you need to join https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/ It's a wonderful forum totally devoted to the V11 series.
I don't know if it is still there (on V11LeMans.com), but I had a V11 sport about 2001/2 and I replaced the clipons with handlebars. Check under the top triple clamp- There should be bosses that are spaced to fit a stock handlebar clamp as found on a California of about the same vintage. Drill them out, bolt the Cali handlebar clamps on and Bob's yer uncle.
JRT, you did a great job with that! I rode that bike for quite a few years before I sold that and bought a 2004 Cafe Sport.
You bastard…!
Beautiful V11. I recently purchased a 2003, but have yet to ride it as it sat for a decade. It is coming along very nicely and I'm excited to hit that starter button soon!I'm interested in your rear rack, any links to one of those?
your only limited by the style and height of the risers and bars you want. Paul B
FWIW, these are DAS Mototec risers that the PO installed.Art
At 65, overweight, weak and a Heart Attack I rode my V11 Rosso Corsa 850 miles in a single day with a stock seat. I wouldn't look at risers. What I would look at is 1" peg drops. I have Knights that came off my 1100 Griso. A little adjustment in the brake / shifter and knights work great. This along with getting off the bike every hour or 100 miles makes one hell of a difference. The funny thing is now, at 68, I've learned to get off my bicycle every hour and it's allowed me to go 3 hours without severe saddle soreness.Mark
