First hot day
« on: May 14, 2022, 09:15:35 PM »
Today was the first hot day here on the Cape.  I didn’t check the temps but it felt into the 70s. I got the garage cleaned out, trash hauled for us and my in laws, and part of the lawn cut.  Also the nuthatch chicks in the garage fledged today. Here is one checking out the SL125 and a pile of straps. Their mother stayed pretty close cajoling them outside.

Also painted the bottom and boot stripe on the boat. It was hot work.  Every year I swear I’ll pay someone to do it next year. I still have to do the brightwork, water pump impeller, batteries, top, electronics install, replace a hatch and sort a bilge pump issue.  Then Sara will give it a sniff, declare it moldy and send me below with some toxic spray.

Deep keel, should be pretty stable. Cool. Boats are I think more work when the need work than a bike. Need to haul a 32'  Luhrs for bottom paint. Not cheap out here. Might pull an engine as well, Cummins BT6, not cheap either to rebuild.
