Thank you, Luap and Mods
« on: September 17, 2019, 07:31:17 AM »
Just a quick "Thank you" to Luap and the Mods here for keeping this place politics-free.

I am getting so sick and tired of trying to catch up on the news and the ONLY thing the news wants to yammer about is stuff I just removed because it's the same stuff we work to avoid putting here.

Thank you for setting up that rule here and enforcing it. This is my little island of peace and tranquility in a world that seems to be going insane.

I love this place, don't let it change.

Spot on Nick!  I'm on several Facebook bike sites.  All seem to have the same deal- motorcycle talk only.  Unfortunately we all have "those rant-prone friends"... :thumb:

It's a bit ironic, isn't it, that this post probably has more highly charged political opinions in it than anything else in month or so?   :thewife:

Lannis

Well crap.... I was just summarizing a couple recent news headlines... but you're absolutely correct. Original post edited, garbage content removed. Thanks Lannis.

Dusty, it was just a quick summary of a few news headlines.... and Lannis brought it to my attention that my post contained the exact stuff I said I'm glad this place doesn't have. Talk about a DERP! I got frustrated and lost my bearings for a moment while venting, I'll try to keep that under control.

Thanks again everyone.

it was just a quick summary of a few news headlines....

Lots of news, events, and people to cover in the world, yet the media is obsessed with one person / one subject.

"The News" is dead to me.

And thanks everyone for keeping it off Wildguzzi.  It sure makes our days easier when we keep it motorcycle-related, here.

Rocker I assume your post, “lots of stuff...” is actually the content Rick posted, and then self deleted?   But the way you posted it as your thinking?

che cosa?

Hai ragione, la notizia ha solo "cattivo uomo arancione" e lo scandalo razzista russo e l'America è orribile e brutta. Non è possibile ascoltare altro.

Hey, this is great, thanks for the suggestion!     :thumb:

Basically, I don't know what you're asking of me.  My post was my own, so I didn't understand your question.

You don't want to know what Lannis said!  LOL!   :copcar:

It's Italian, not Spanish Chad...  :)

Lannis is just talking about the bad Orange Man, and how how bad America is...etc. etc. .  Nothing too off kilter...just sounds much better in Italian.

See, everything was OK till you said all that.   Now YOU'RE the one in moderator trouble.

Everything sounds better in Italian.   Listen (and watch him talk with his hands) as Adriano Celentano talks to two lovely ladies about the first rap song ever produced (and he was the one that did it), Presencoulenansinai cousol .... (been years since we done this one)

I will never mention or even come close to mentioning the Insuasm in any context, I promise.

My moms parents were Old School Irish & Italian. My Italian grandmother came from Italy when she was a teenager with her 7 siblings, and grandfather 5th generation Irish born in the US. Grandma was the only one to not marry an Italian, but as they all grew up together, and the boys went to the war together (WWII) all was good.

Anyway, my grandfather (the Irishman) would often say to his brothers in law at family gatherings  when things turned towards religion or politics 'You Italians like to use your hands when you talk, how about you smack yourself in the mouth and shut the h&ll up" (in the strongest of NY cop accent) Which was always followed by all manner of things  like svacheem, fungool, etc. and of course plenty of hand gestures, more cigars, laughs, grappa, vino and manhattans.... Was a glorious way to grow up.

But back on point, I too enjoy the politic free discussion.
