For all the things that did & didn’t go as planned this summer, it sure has been a great year for grapes around here. We picked over 25 gallons of muscadines and scuffadines this afternoon. There’s still at least 10-15 gallons of muscadines on the vine that aren’t ready. If we hit all the vines hard when they were ready instead of just picking the easy vines that are trellised, I bet we could have nearly double the grapes.
Time to make wine. Might even finally make the grappa for the studio that’s always been the bigger goal of the vineyard.
How has the grape harvest been for other wine-making WG folks?
