V7 Classic: Exhaust crossover pipe replacement
« on: October 15, 2022, 03:53:38 AM »

I decided to replace the existing crossover pipe with a new slim one from online store Stein-Dinse. I've no idea why the original would be made so large.

I did it primarily to improve access to the gearbox drain plug - it also looks much neater.

I removed both silencers and loosened the studs on one header pipe to give enough access room.

My tip would be to loosen the O2 sensor with the pipe still in place and then spin the pipe off the sensor, that way avoids twisted wires. Do the same in reverse with the new one.

I know it’s referred to as a colostomy bag but it reminds me of an old Victorian hot water bottle!
