New shoes for the "fridge": Pirelli Angel GT's
« on: March 12, 2015, 08:16:05 PM »
This is the 7th set of tires on my '09 Norge, alias the "fridge". Didn't like the feel of the originals, and they didn't last very long. Went through three sets of PR2's and then two sets of the PR3's. Both iterations of the Michelins made the bike feel secure in dry and wet conditions. However, in all cases the front developed cupping fairly early, especially on the left side, which made the tire annoyingly noisy (to me anyway).

Went with something new to me this time: Pirelli Angel GT's. Took a nice 100 mile ride today to break in the tires, mainly on twisty roads. The tires felt great, but new tires always feel much better than the old ones they replace. To be honest, it's hard for me to tell if they are any better than the Michelins. Maybe time will tell.

Regardless, it sure was wonderful to get out and ride again; February really sucked in Kentucky this year.

I suspect you will like them over time. My Pirellis always hold their profile until the end, partly because I get a lot of curves in.   :)

I have those on my Tiger 1050 after several sets of PR2's.  I quite pleased with both wet and dry.  We'll see how long they last.

I run them on Rosie and the Mighty Scura. You vill like them. Sticky, last a long time. Had a set on the Norge, too. They were at 5K miles when I sold it and still looked good.

The Angel ST/GT are Triumph's tyre of choice at the moment. Good wear rates too.
