Well, beauty is in the hand of the beerholder, but....

What was that?

That is exactly the set up that my '97 had when I bought it...
The bags were set a tad lower and the exhaust had been cut and lowered to accomodate the Givis. I hated the look so I changed it back to a Sporti...
-
That "Lipo-Section" slimmed down tail was what one had to buy if he wanted hard luggage close to the bike, back in the late '90s.
radguzzi had that tail section and bag setup.
Definitely fills the SPORT-touring mission.
It would work for me!

And I just went back to read the mods completely, mine had the "Liposuction" tail piece also to make room for the bag mounts... which lead me to replacing that for an original.
To each their own... :undecided:

Oh, I don't mind the bags or mods..I'm a firm believer in doing what you have to do to make the bike fit the task.. but those faux rivets? :hurl:

Yeah. I don't really get that look, but I've seen more than one Guzzi sportybike with the "rivet paint job".

Yup, I get it but just did not care for the mods when I bought it. I saw a Sport Motorcycle, not a bagger...
We had the Bassa as a bagger at the time so we had that covered. Again, to each their own.
I love the look of the Sporti as a pure Sport ride, even if I never ride that rig again, I love to look at it...

radguzzi,
do you still have the Liposection tail for the Sport 1100 ?

I think it's kind of cool - in a post-apocalyptic sort of way. I could imagine it in a future Terminator movie - which would then turn these into $15,000 collectibles (like TRON did for the Ducati Sport 1000).

But the rivet thing - surely this is a plastic wrap, not a paint job... I mean, there could be a very well preserved paint job under that.

I don't Mike, sold it with the modified fairing and purchaced the stock replacements...

The rivet job is paint, I recall seeing this several years ago, the owner might be an emplyee of Moto Int'l but I am not certain of that.

I like the practicality of it but I'd hate to lose those pretty rear flares in a concession to function over form.
I guess though - were the bags seldom removed and had they benefitted(?) from the attention lavished upon the rest of the bike, it'd be a cool spot-tourer. Smooth and match the bags to the bike - I could take a second look... maybe.
Todd.

O.K. Now you guys are messin' with the Mekon.
Those hips got to be in Guzzi's top 10 design treatments. Am I right, or am I right?!!
You wouldn't remove the fins from a '59 caddy, would you!!??
"Liposuction" conjures up some creepy images to me.
Which one below would you rather ride?

I thought so! :boozing:
Carry on.
