How does that happen? You have time to buy the bike and all the gear, but no time to ride it? Never? I don't get it, but the bike looks like a good deal.

Could be health reasons that kept them off the bike . Then again , more than one person has bought a new motorbike and learned very quickly the experience was either uncomfortable , or scared the poo out of them .

I've never done that with a bike ....

.... but admit it, some of us have done it with exercise equipment.   Put a mile or two on it, then started using it as a clothes rack, then sold it in as-new condition.

"Never had time to use it", I say.

Yeah right.

Although I am not a fan of flat black paint, looks like a  pretty good deal.

Had more than one person sell us a bike, usually 3-4 years old with hardly any miles. They got their license, listened to a friend who told them to get more bike than they could handle. Scared the crap out themselves, only ride once a year when their "riding buddies" go on their annual "run" so they never get better, or comfortable on a bike. After pushing it around the garage, they would sell it to us, usually with the "I don't have time to ride. I'm buying a boat instead." Yeah, I commute in a boat, too. Or come home from work and decide to take the boat out for a spin. Or wake up early on Saturday and pull the boat out for a run to the bakery...

When I bought my 1979 xs 1100 in 1984, I bought it from the original owner who bought it new and put exactly 52 miles on it. he said it made too much power and scared him so all he did was use gliptone wax and wax it and look at it in his garage... After 5 years his wife made him sell it. Found it in the classifieds of New York Newsday. I think I paid $2,000 which was a lot for the time.

I saw that Craigslist ad last week and something about it didn't ring true.
