She drowned in the moonlight, strangled by her own bra.

To add some context. This is a quote from Carrie Fisher.

Reality is somewhat less romantic.  According to Wikipedia:

On December 23, 2016, Fisher went into cardiac arrest while on a flight from London to Los Angeles; a fellow actor seated near Fisher reported that she had stopped breathing.  A passenger performed CPR on Fisher until paramedics arrived. After being taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center by ambulance, she was placed on a ventilator.

Fisher died at age 60 on December 27, 2016, at 8:55 am local time in Los Angeles. Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd, confirmed the actress's death in a statement given to the press shortly afterward by family spokesperson, Simon Halls.  At the time of her death, Fisher was survived by her daughter, her mother Debbie Reynolds, her brother Todd Fisher and her half-sisters Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher.

In her book, Wishful Drinking, Fisher had written "I want it reported that I drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra."; several obituaries and retrospectives obliged.

That would seem to be true.  About 15 years ago my aunt died.  The next day My uncle, her husband followed.
The family knew that My uncle who had been ailing a long time had only willed himself to stay alive to be with her and not burden her with his death.  When she passed he just let go.

RIP......another and hopefully our last loss in this god awful year.

It's only going to get worse.   The rock stars and actors that we grew up with are older and generally "faster" lives than we did .... as the years pile up, it's going to be a childhood hero or a rock icon gone every DAY ...

A few years ago my doctor said to me during a yearly physical...... "the warranty is up". Ugh.

I clearly remember seeing "Star Wars" in 1977 at the Coronet Theater in San Francisco with my best friend and our two dates. We waited in line for 90 minutes after drinking pink champagne in the car (the girls wanted pink champagne). It was a fantastic movie. From the opening story line disappearing in "3D" to hearing sound "behind" me (a first for me) during the trash compactor scene I was transfixed through the entire show. So much so that I didn't even think about getting up when my feet started sliding around after my friend's date vomited about 2/3 of the way thru the movie.

Carrie Fisher looked great..... who knew there was going to be a gold bikini scene to come later. I very much enjoyed her performance in the Star Wars movies.

That's what the Empire told the assassins they sent to make it look like.
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.
