Kirby says HI .
« on: November 22, 2017, 04:50:09 PM »
Had a nice lunch meetup with the Kirbster today at the Amish House in Choteau . The locals seemed surprised that a couple of old guys were out riding on a 40 degree day , we just smiled at them . One guy asked some questions about the Rockster , looked pretty puzzled re the boxer engine , then looked even more baffled by the Jackal motor . Then he stated , "I own a Harley" which explains his reaction

Anyway , 'twas fun , thanks Kirb , ride safe to CA .

Kind of was wondering as I haven't seen a post from him in quite awhile. Glad all is well. :thumb:

Thanks for the Kirby report.  So, the old Rockster is still motoring along?  Good to hear.  I sold mine after 17,000 miles.  As with several now-departed bikes, this one was probably a keeper.  Not complex for a Beemer.  Mine didn't even have ABS (I didn't want the servo assisted ones.)  Dual-plugged from the factory.  Nicely mapped, pulled from lower rpms much better than a previous R1100RS.  Maybe Kirb could provide a short owner's report on his Rockster experience sometime.

Happy Thanksgiving to you dudes from America's Southwest!

Believe Kirby has over 100K miles on his BMW.  Is he riding during Thanksgiving?   Haven't seen Kirby for a few years now.  Last time was @ Datil Rally a couple years ago.  He's always welcome here.  :thumb:
