This is my Roamer wearing it's traveling clothes. I just installed the Agostini cans, and they are absouletly marvolus! With db killers in, they are very deep, and significantly more robust than stock, but not too loud. I haven't tried them without dbs, as I'm sure they would be louder than I want, plus it seem to run very well with dbs in. Anyway, back to the fun. The c-bow bags from H&B can mount in either direction. I had them on with the blunt side forward, as it just seemed that's the way they flow with the bike. However, I buddy informend me that I had them on backward! And he had a good point, they are more aerodynamic with the oval pointing forward, what do you Jerks think? Really, who give a poop, but apparently I must, as I'm asking! ha ha I still think they look better blunt side forward, feel free to cast your vote.

I'm sorry, I can't tell because there's a Volkswagen parked over your rear fender

I vote for oval nose!

Hey, I did say she is dressed up for traveling!

This is the perfect question for one of those Facebook groups I’ve mentioned in the past. You’ll have a lot of experts weigh in, and others who will feel the understandable need to share a pic of their V9 WITH THE SAME BAGS, O.M.G.

Exactly. Maybe I'll meet some hipsters!

This is why I always use symmetrical bags - life is hard enough. I like the look of blunt forward and besides, your legs will block most of the airflow hitting the bags so the aero argument is weak at best. You're touring, not hitting the Bonneville Salt Flats.

It's all good. I'm a fan of the utility and convenience of a top box myself. Used to run the 40L Junior on my EV all the time, even around town.
Homely as a bag of ***holes but just too damn handy!
That said, I think the "bulge forward" option will ever so slightly balance out the UFO on the back.

How does a teardrop fall? Think about it, big end 1st in the wind. Must be getting ready for IL Rally.
Put on your Keds & roll up your pants!!

I wish, gonna mis it.

OVAL NOSE!!   :boozing:

I like the old split rear window bugs the best.
Really like Steve said, big side 1st

first photo....I have no idea which "nose" is oval
-
oval front give more legroom for a pillion if thats a consideration. But lets face it the bags are butt ugly any way you have them, like on most motorcycles. You don't run bags for the looks thats for sure.
Ciao

Blunt side forward :boozing:

Blunt nose.
I like the "kick up" look it gives in the rear.
-
They look best on someone Else's machine.
-
I still think they look better blunt side forward.
-
Blunt nose first.
I know the top box is super useful for traveling but a pistol case would look much better for every day use.

Won't hold a helmet of course but will hold 3 1 gallon jugs of 1 percent milk.
-
Look at your top case, the blunt nose is forward and slants to to the back but on the other hand every hb bag I have seen has the logo in the back, I like the 1st photo better, but what ever puts the weight ahead of the axle. :boozing:

No contest, 1st picture.

I like the idea of the oval nose cutting through the air, less chance of catching a nasty crosswind; the VW on the rack might be an issue though
:bike-037:
ps The Nelson Riggs bags on my V11 are on backwards, because that's how they fit and function best,,, for now,,, fwiw

The aero argument of a motorcycle is weak at best. They are as aerodynamic as brick.
-
Pipes look nice.
but with all the bags it just looks wrong somehow. Though i do think blunt end forward. Aerodynamics (have you looked at yourself in a mirror lately) bag direction won't make that much of a difference. I like the look of the bags.
-
looks better with the wide bit pointing forward, matches the lines of the tank. If you carry pillion, I would flip the narrow end to the front. Now about that topcase......
-
For all you top case haters, it’s size and presence is magnified by proximity and angle of the camera. It is a top case, and thus ugly by nature, but in the flesh it doesn’t look so big.

They sure are handy, and dry!

I feel you, I run a big (30 or 40l) H&B topcase on the Breva, since Lupe likes the backrest... But it looks terrible!

Chad - It's a white V9 Roamer, it would look cool as heck whatever traveling clothes it was wearing ..... just like mine

WRONG!!!!!! Look at the "flow" of the bags. Just backwards!!!
S/B blunt forward and streaming off the rear!

OK-OK - Tomato-ToMATO...Potato-PoTATO - - We are splitting hairs here...
...and of course, if you don't want to install BAGS...there is always the expandable CORTECH "TAIL-BAG", which I used quite often...

JJ, I've had one of the Cortech bags for at least 15 years, and it's one of the best luggage accessories I ever owned. It's gone on several multi-day trips on different bikes I've owned over the years.
