Is it reasonable to expect a dealer to check the plug gap?I tend to think that’s a bit over the top. Why would you think the manual would be wrong?
Does anyone change the plug gap these days like we used to?I just put the plugs in and assume the plug manufacturer have it right.
I gap every plug, right out of the box. Way too wide of gap for Loops and early Tontis. Have to open them up for Mom's pickup.
OK I had better smarten up then. Funny thing I carry a set of feelers in the tool kit too.
I'll play the devils advocate here , how was it running ? . Peter
Loops or models w/points I set at .024", newer models or ECU, electronic ignitions, high output coils, I set at .028". This is like an oil thread, bend over, how big is your crack. (meant to be humor).
So now I find after running without gapping new plugs for years.I set the Loop plugs to 0.6 as per the manual now the talk is 0.9 which was probably closer to the ungapped setting. What's it supposed to be for a loop?
