I unscrewed the headlamp bottom screw on the 2014 V7 to remove the chrome headlight ring and lamp from the bucket.

I heard something fall to the ground but couldn't find it. I just found this a few feet away and assuming this is what the noise was. I can't figure out where it came from in the headlight assembly and can't find it in the parts diagram.

Any thoughts on what it is, where it should go?

I have to say the headlamp bucket and retainer ring is paper thin and very cheap. Can't believe one screw is what holds in the heavy glass lamp.  I've used electrical tape to hold it all together as I dont trust the screw and there is a gap between the bucket and the retainer ring.

That's the spacer for the headlight retaining screw, (the one at the bottom)

So that spacer sits inside the housing and the screw goes into it and then into the threaded hole inside the housing?

That was my first thought too Roy, but what does it need a spacer of such length ?

In case some ham fisted gorilla overtightens it crushing the headlight rim, the Griso has one as well so probably your Norge as well.

Thanks for the link. After reading it , I realized I also had two deteriorated rubber o-rings and couldn't find out where they went. I didn't end up using any when I re-installed everything last night so I'm hoping that's fine. I put electrical tape around the chrome retainer ring to keep it secure and stop it from vibrating. It actually looks pretty good and should do the trick.
