I'd say his prices for both are right in the ball park, on ebay maybe even higher.

Both very sought after motorcycles in their own circles.

NEVER ceases to amaze me how someone has a near top money motorcycle for sale that they cannot be bothered to roll the thing out of the garage for a decent photo or two.

I would like the RS please to go along with the '91 RT.  Although, in keeping with the frugality of Guzzi-dom, I bought the RT cheap.

Agreed  :1:, but I am equally amazed at how anyone can own a bike like that and not RIDE it more than 80 mi/yr.

THAT is one handsome BMW, Rad! I like the looks of an RS (or the V7 Sport), but the ergos just don't do it for me ....

I would say prices for both are not "unreasonable", especially for the Beemer.  However, if they have been sitting for a long time...well...you know what that means...more "time & money!"

Still, both worth a good look in either case! :thumb:  :1:

A 3400 mile V7 Sport, if that is legit, is a steal at that price.

Both nice machines.

The BMW RS is a rare Motorsport Edition. It is one of about 200 produced. Aside from the paintwork, I'm not sure what makes it different than a regular RS.

With that low mileage, It is priced well. IIRC, the last one I saw sold for about $13k.

Someone (either a previous owner or the guy who inherited the estate and doesn't care about anything but selling it quick) was an "eccentric" like we've been talking about ... Has an unlimited amount of money, buys something nice, and that's all he wanted to do; now he'll let it just sit and rot away.

OR (and this is a strictly modern wrinkle on hard-sell sales) someone has taken a bike, shaken a bunch of dust and dirt over it, shoved it up against the wall among the paint cans, and rather than SAYING "American Pickers" or "Barn Find!", is letting people 'infer' it for themselves ....

Dig that Shorty.  That's why I went with the RT.  Well, that and the fact that the deal just fell into my lap.  I could not pass on it.

The only difference is cosmetic . The RS and RS Motorsport could be ordered with optional final drive ratios and different 1st and 2nd gear transmission ratios .

 Dusty,

I didn't think there was much difference, other than the " unique " paint  scheme. Personally, I would prefer one of the silver/ blue early models.

Looks like the V7 has been reduced to $11k. Great looking bike, but question why it isn't cleaned and polished up. I'd like to know the paint and chrome condition at least...

Other than the non-stock exhaust this bike looks to be stock, the seat looks original, it has the correct rear Koni shocks, left hand electric petcock, the small silver painted starter motor, the gauges are correct, ditto the handle bars, switches, foot rests, left hand cable operated rear brake, the paint looks original.

With some polishing of the paint and detailing this could be an unrestored gem! Budget that it probably needs a set of Giladorni jugs and pistons and a carb rebuild.

With a little effort this is at least a $16K bike.

If anyone is seriously looking for an original V7 Sport I think this is a very good candidate.

I think I’m a certified Guzzi nut for sure but I’d go for that R100RS Motorsport. Spent a lot of time on the seat of BMWs and that one would be a good one for the ages.

Has anyone been to have a look? The ad is still active. My brother lives nearby and I could twist his arm......the Sport looks much too good to pass up.
