And getting into the spirit of the holiday the 'Royal Horse' the hotel's mascot, as put on its surf lifesavers hat and applied zinc cream to its schnozz!

Only going to say one thing: Bastards.
We're in the middle of the low light of a winter that can't decide to be winter or spring.
Gloat upon your holiday...
::(
Post a picture of a beer label to have the curse lifted... bottle may be unopened or up ended.
Cheers.

Not the only place and the Royal is basic 'Pub' accommodation so it's a trifle spartan. Perfectly OK but no en-suite etc. there are a couple of other places in town. The bottom pub has better rooms but the place has no character. If you want a laugh go to Tripadvisor and look up the Bungendore Budget Motel! It's worse than anything in the reviews, really! :D

Surely F not C
Sent from a submarine in Oklahoma .
I toggled it from C to F for the non-metric folks here. I have absolutely no idea how warm/cold 84F is until I change it back to C ;D

Honestly, I like it very much
Could it be export Foster brewed differently?
-
Fosters is better than 99% of the swill that passes for beer in America . Good grief , what is Bud light ? :o
Dusty
Bud light is like taking your girl to the beach. Aussies will understand what I am saying.

I tried some Foster's. Once. I think (from reading one of the "oil can" labels) that the "local" version of Fosters is actually brewed under contract by a domestic brewer, your brewery may vary.
Bud Light is the real reason they have to keep all those Clydesdales around!

I acquired the taste for Foster when I was staying in the UK, not sure if they are brewed locally or imported.
Haven't drink one for a long time as it is not available on the racks of the supermarket near to my house now.

Happy Holiday Fellows!

Light beer is a fraud. Bud light and Fosters weigh the same.
-
I like Fosters. But nobody could ever make any money betting against just how uncultured I could be. But there's one American beer way more disgusting than any other. Coors Light. Like sex in a rowboat. F**ckin' near water.
-
Cheers to our brothers and sisters in Australia. Our tap ran dry this morning, so we'll have to make due with the leftover Leinenkugel Oktoberfest in the barn...

I tried that. Ended up with sand in my Schlitz.
Seriously, college treats were a trip to Jim Casey's for a Bully Beef sandwich and Foster's. Whoo Boy, we were all that then!
-
Yes Jim, we know what you mean :D
That watering hole in Petes home town is a great little spot. A very friendly atmosphere and great food too.
Too far from Tasmania to have my new favourite beer on tap though

Instead of playing Bike mechanic and drinking beer this Aussie day wk end, I was called out to fix this. Starter relay stuck on result.... Cooked starter and battery. There's a joke about Beavers in there somewhere..... ?

It took me several minutes to stop laughing just to type this.

When I'm down there I drink VB, Victoria Bitter. ;-T
I tried XXXX (Four X) and that was piss.
-
I'm curious about why Aussies tie corks to their hat brims. Is it so they can sniff them to remind them of the booze they have consumed, or does the motion keep the flies away? (Should I run for cover?)

Same here. Eyes are still watering.

I too also as well like the taste of VB. But it can sneak up on you and give you a bad headache.
Local saying Victoria Bitter, getting Ugly people laid for over 60 years :D

our beer only comes in two cups......Bledisloe and world. ;-T

It is winter up here but summer down under. Do you guys like your beer served really, really cold like us?
I ask because I have heard the British like some of their beer served warm! Maybe after a cold ride, a tot of hot rum and butter!
Whats the optimum temperature to serve a beer?

The corks keep the flying insects at bay. My Afrikaner friend said so. I tried it, it works.
