Does anyone know if one of these dash plates is correct for a 73 v7 Sport? I found them in the parts stash that came with the project bike. One has a crinkle finish with three amber and one clear lens. The other has a smooth black finish with one green, two amber and a yellow lens. Thanks, Ben

Mine is smooth black. Orange/yellow for neutral, the other three are red, just as Daves' picture. Original on my '73/'74 Sport.

Once again Dave is correct. Also, the lenses in non crinkle coated one are OEM. Same as the 850T IIRC.

Pics of mine, dash not touched since approx 1981. If it’s original, ?
Lenses are three red, one amber

Paint is not a coarse wrinkle like yours shows but isn’t smooth as smooth as Dave’s pic shows. Maybe this is a repaint like a quick spray over the original smooth paint, not sure. Letters are painted.

Your dash I would say is original. 3 red and 1 amber is correct. The shroud certainly looks like it has been hit with a rattle can at some point.

If you have one that you will not use - I could be interested in buying.

Hi Rolf. I’m sorting this since forum member Tom Kinney near me needs lenses. Im happy to send you the housing if he doesn’t want it. Ben

If you zoom in on this picture the V7 Sport dash (1973) is original as I found it in the crate of parts that was a disassembled V7 Sport I bought off Mark Ethridge in 2012

The bezel had a semi gloss black slight wrinkle finish.

It is the house I could be interested in. New lenses can be bought separately.

As other have indicated it appears that there is more than one type.
My 73 Sport had the smoother black finish, and was original to the bike.
I sure do miss that bike.

My 850T dash is smooth finished. Looks similar to the above pics. It's a '75 with filter.

Thanks Everyone. This was very helpful. I can now hold what I need for the 7 and distribute the extra lenses and housing to Tom and Rolf. Winner winner...

Hello from Norway.
The instrument front part (dash) has arrived. This was the last part of my restoration. I had to purchase a plastic part since I could not "!find" the original metal part. Now I can rest.
