I personally would not approach a special forces member and bad mouth his skull tattoo, you may end up having a bad day!

I don't think anyone suggested that?   That being said, the Marines and Special Forces guys that I personally know would just smile quietly to themselves if someone commented on their unit insignia that they wore ... they don't need to prove anything to a loudmouth ....

That said, I'm not asking serious gangsta- looking individuals what the spiderwebs up the neck and teardrop tattoos signify either...not that curious.  (And don't want to be memorialized by a teardrop tattoo )

Ask respectfully and you'll get a variety of answers most having to do with the loss of a loved one.

I know this thread has already turned into bashing others that don't think like you do, but I will add that some popular online video games use specific skills that allow othe players to spot a fellow player in public so thay can share a nod of knowing as they pass.

May I remind you of the Waffle House across from the main base entrance at LeJune a only friggin Waffle House I've ever been to with a security guard. And a fight broke out before we even got our food.

Trust me there are plenty of Marines who throw down over perceived grievances.

Oh, I know that ... I've got a combat-seasoned infantry Marine for an eldest son (3/8 Weapons Company 81's).    They feed these young guys gunpowder and raw meat and tell them they're invulnerable, then the guys add some alcohol and testosterone on top of that cocktail, and you'll often get the unavoidable results from that in places you hadn't planned.

Camp Lejeune is sort of an exception to the general rule of Marines in public, I've found.    Typically, these guys are mixing it up with OTHER Marines about some internal Marine thing, or maybe a girl (although I've never seen a girl in Jacksonville I'd fight over!), not with civilians, unless the civilians come in LOOKING for a fight.   Away from Lejeune, they tend to be pretty good about the people whose rights and lives they're paid to protect.

Or maybe 3rd Battalion 8th Marines is an exception to the rule!     :thumb:

I think the Misfits say it best:

The corpses all hang headless and limp
Bodies with no surprises
And the blood drains down like devil's rain
We'll bathe tonight
I want your skulls
I need your skulls
I want your skulls
I need your skulls
Demon I am and face I peel
To see your skin turned inside out, 'cause
Gotta have you on my wall
Gotta have you on my wall, 'cause
I want your skulls
I need your skulls
I want your skulls
I need your skulls
Go
Collect the heads of little girls and
Put 'em on my wall
Hack the heads off little girls and
Put 'em on my wall
Oh oh
I want your skulls
I need your skulls
I want your skulls
I need your skulls
I want your skulls
I need your skulls
I want your skulls
I need your skulls
Whoa
It's the ones who've cracked that the light shines through!

Maybe I'm missing something... been seeing a lot of SKULL images everywhere. No cross bones, just the skull. Not just on Harley apparel, but the skull image on T-shirts that people are wearing, on the back of pick up trucks, tattoos, on flags flying, etc. With so many out there, there must be some meaning behind it. Can someone explain it?

Do you mean this skull?

That's the Skull from the Punisher movie. Popular in military and gun club circles, and I think Black Rifle Coffe is using it too.

Then there is this skull, you know one of our alien ancestors?
