Seems like a good deal.  Used bikes are getting harder so sell.

Owning a 98 EV, I can't think of better bike to commute, run errands and light tour on.  They're pretty comfy and handle well too and run 100.

One possibility, of course, is that a scammer stole the photos (including of all the documentation, Guzziology, etc) and is displaying them hoping to get at least a "deposit".

The other is that a guy for whom English is not his native language actually owns this bike and is selling it legally.  But even allowing for the language thing, he just doesn't sound like a guy who has Guzziology-level knowledge of his bike.

I'd have to see this one in person to believe it.   $2000 is a believable price for this bike, though, it's not like he's getting people salivating and acting dumb by offering it for $800.

20 year old bike, not a Ducati or Harley and this is the time to buy bikes cheaper.

The only problem is you will have to go though it and fix little things.

It's in my 1 long day driving range but I'm lust for a smaller bike and keep thinking I need a sidecar so I'm somewhat safe.

I really don't need 3 big blocks.

Regarding the language thing....

When I post classified ads in France (french is not my mother tongue) I make absolutely sure that my French is perfect... I'll always get a buddy to check it over or re-write it for me. I'm just so much more likely to sell the thing that way!

Quite honestly, if someone can't be bothered to do that then I doubt they ever bothered to check the oil either.

Maybe I'm being cruel, but if the guy lives in Seattle he must know some English speakers right???

I'm with Dusty, I'd tread carefully.

That's about the market price for an EV.
Love mine, but realize I'll never turn a profit on it
Most undervalued 2 wheel transportation I know of.

Paid 50% more for my 850T3 (requiring restoration) than my '98 V11EV  ($2K) 4 years ago ready to ride.

I sold my '98 in 2011 for $3K. $2K shouldn't be surprising.

Price is right for the area. Big blocks that ain't new Harleys are hard to move around the Seattle area.

Contact the seller for a phone number and ring them (That what we used to do in the old days and might still work)

Get the seller to text a picture of the bike with something you want in the photo, if the seller is real and motivated they will.

Right click search Google on the CL photo's goes nowhere.

Dear Sir:

Do you have a sister, who has long blond hair, and a bottle of anejo tequila?

Also, a stack of first edition Jack Vance hardcovers would be helpful ...

That's about the market price for an EV.

I thought so too. I remember looking at a similar bike in WA about a year ago now that was at a dealership for not much more.

No one's knocking the guy for his sentence construction v. the average WG poster just to be doing it.

It's that we know that someone who's advertising a bike in the USA who can't be arsed to write in English is PROBABLY:

A) In some other country with a dial-up connection alligator-clipped to a phone wire outside his Lagos or Belgrade attic apartment ...

B) In the US somewhere but can't find anyone to abet him by helping with the ad copy for his scam.

That was the whole point of mentioning the language thing - as evidence that it MIGHT be a scam.   It might NOT be, but caveat emptor.

It reminds of a dodgy ad in a trader mag back in 1985 that started Ford27 cross volt... which I followed up with a phone call and then a 15 minute drive.
One 1964 1/2 cross bolt Ford FE 427 engine, complete in pieces with stock bore and crank that could be measured (as good)
$600 (US$360) thank you very much.

It could be a nice bike for someone, maybe even some foreigner to do a US trip on with good weather only months away.

I just love putting up these posts. Because it's so interesting to see the response from those who perceive that the glass is half full, versus those who are hell bent on believing that it's half empty. Maybe, someone who's interested should just simply contact the owner...

Price is about right.  These Calis aren't worth very much.  In money in today's market.

In terms of quality and enjoyment, they're priceless.  So, buy plenty of them now and enjoy yourself.

Which begs the question-- will the price of these V11 Calis ever go up?  In my opinion: not so much.  Even though they are very high quality and enjoyable to ride they will never have the cachet of Duc's or Beemers.  Mainly because the pilots are old and fat.  Like me.  :)

Sounds about right to me....all of it. doesn't sound like scam in the description... just slightly cryptic writing.

I sold my 2001 Jackal with hard bags for $2300 and there wasn't a spec of rust on it. It sounds like an aggressive seller with a realistic price.

Well

This is my V11 Cali. It’s become like an old friend and has been very reliable. Great bikes even if I have much more than this asking price in mine as it sits.

Guess I’ll just have to ride it and enjoy it lol. Cant get a more versatile and well-built machine for this budget!

Price doesn't seem out of line.  Contact him and see from there.  If you're a member of MGNOC, contact a WA member to check it out.

I would love to own a bike with buckhorns and stepped seat.  Think it is up to a ride down the PCH and then across southern US?  LOL!
