Wizards Metal Polish and Gratuitous Griso Shot
« on: August 01, 2020, 08:45:39 PM »
The Griso got filthy this past week from riding in the rain.  I figured it was a good time to try out a new product (to me), Wizards Metal Polish.  I don't think my pipes have ever looked this good before.

Very nice! Looks like a professional photo shoot for introduction of a new motorcycle

Can you comment on the effectiveness of this metal polish for removing bits of baked-on tar? That has always been the most problematic issue for me on my Harley and BMW exhausts.

There was a cloth that I used years ago that seemed to disappear, found some on fleabay but was all dried out  and no longer worked, looks like what you found works real nice, I'll be getting me some of that. Your Griso looks better than new  :boozing:

No never dull came in a can, worked ok but the cloth worked so much better, I think it was miracle cloth, I like the cloth better than the cream, less mess. Wizard looks like the ticket for me  :boozing:

Wow, as a newb to the world of Guzzi, I assume that is the new model being released 2021? 😛
Man, not only does it look new, the color scheme and overall lines of the bike are gorgeous!
Nice!

Looks like a reincarnation of Nevr-Dull cloth. Still have a can. I like Mothers Aluminum polish.
I was stationed at Hurlburt Field in the early 70's. They had a couple of T-33's that the former pilots flying desks could take 'em for rides to keep their hours up and keep getting flight pay. There would be a swarm of crew chiefs with the big cans of Nevr-Dull polishing them birds in the hot Florida sun.

I have had bikes with many miles that I have manged to keep looking new.  It just depends if you like keeping your bike detailed.  A riding buddy is the polar opposite of me.  The grungier the bike the more he likes it.  The only water his bikes ever see is in the form of rain.  Different strokes.

I took a trails class with Dick Mann. He talked for probably 10 minutes on the importance of keeping a bike clean. I like 'em shiny and clean. once you let them go to far, it's hard to bring them back. But I NEVER clean ON a trip ---Bad juju.  Anything worth having is worth taking care of.

I always clean my bike when I go on a trip.  It serves me well.  I carry some spray cleaner and rags in my tankbag.  It seems someone always needs a spray just to get the bugs offa their helmets.  I like a clean bike and helmet.

I remember I heard some of this juju crap from some guy in Mizzurie.   Said I shouldn't clean my bike.  WTH?

Jus' sayin'-  If he'd taken the time to clean his bike, he might have noticed his oil cap was loose.  When he lost it, it was a mess.  But funny to see tree branches and twigs whittled away and wedged as a stopper in there.  BTW didn't work well.

Man that was a long 350 miles.

Prepping for that "procedure" Since Wednesday (52nd Hour now) Glad my Wizard stuff showed up when I had some time on my hands. It works as good as Nevr Dull, don't see much difference  :thumb:
