Friday came quickly, and we set about chasing windmills.
There were a LOT of windmills - and they picked a good location, because it was [censored] windy.

.
.
.

.
.
So then, we took over City Hall.  Or maybe the building next to it, I'm not sure.
Some of the group was invited to use the back entrance,
.
.

.
.
As you can see, we literally took over the town
.
.

.
.
.
.
.
Saturday came waaaay to fast.... with dinner time ever closer, and the resident chefs converged on the local grocery store.  I'm not sure why they made us go around to the BACK of the store...... this seemed to be a recurring theme...

Made it home safely about an hour ago. Went up through Derby to visit a friend, before heading home. Great route. Lots of fun roads. Despite the weather and lower attendance than I've heard is normal, this rally was a blast! I look forward to seeing you all again!

Left out 4AM took a more Western route.  Straight South through rural Kansas and Oklahoma, then Texas.
11 hours.
Already planning for next year.

Oh do I have a story to tell about what these folks did for me  Really tired right now , watch this space .

Everyone seemed to have a good time , the Bassa and the Stone are both safely ensconced in Cedar Vale  :thumb:

The Jackal seems to fixed herself  , ran like new coming home Chuckie .

I’m home after 779 miles round trip.  Dusty said to have faith.  And sure enough, my “new” little Ducati got me there and back with no major issues.

Great rally.  Looking forward to next year.

Great rally !!!,Really enjoyed meeting everyone, this was my first Wildgoose event. It won't be my last, look forward to next year.  Hope to see all of you at the Kansas Council Grove rally in mid June.
I took a ride on Saturday to explore the area ,I headed south on hwy 15 into Oklahoma , lots of pretty country to ride through, and to my surprise I came across this massive wind farm( we don't have these in Missouri not where I live anyway)seems to be guarded by a herd of cows, here's a few pictures.

I arrived home late yesterday afternoon, about 700 miles from CV to our door.  It's amazing the speeds people are willing to run, particularly in those nose-to-tail lines that form on the Interstates.

Our son Glenn, an engineer for GM, is correct -- the new vintage cars/pickup trucks are so quiet, so smooth, so powerful that, once inside with the windows up, the sound system on and a coffee cup in one hand, an I-phone in the other, the driver has no feeling of how fast the telephone poles are going by.

Ride safe out there, it's a frigging zoo!!
Essential to the pursuit of happiness is knowing when you've caught it.
Life's what happens while you're making other plans.
I always knew I'd get old.  How fast it happened was a bit of a surprise, though.

I got ripped off.

I paid Five Dollars (!) at the auction for Marley to sleep with me, and that dang dawg wouldn't come in to the camper.  :boozing:
Oh, well.. I just threw all my motorcycle gear on top of the sleeping bag to keep warm.

Had a great time down there with all of you. I told Luap that it really reminded me of the vibe that the rallies we went to when I was growing up had. Good people, fun, laughter, and shared passion for these two wheeled machines.  Here are some pictures I took. Nothing special, but I'll get better ones, next year. Plan on being there for the whole thing. As an aside, seeing my photos from the rally seems to have given my dad the itch, again. He's already talking about finding something small to mid sized to run around town on, and occasionally take down the highway. I'll be posting a general idea of what he's looking for in the swap meet section within the next week, so keep on eye out, there, in case any of you come across something that would fit him!

In a pretty severe lapse of judgement, I took my Summer sleeping bag.  Hey! It's on the Oklahoma border, right? How cold could it be?
38.  That's the coldest night camping I remember in a *long* time.

I am sure that having Marley in your bag would have helped to keep warm, however today he confided to me that he was insulted by the $5 bid. You can see it in his eyes. grin:

Every time I was tempted to go, it rained.  I think there was a flood detour through Ark City.  The last campout in Oct had constant rain at Talihina but at least it was warm there.

Did anyone call Dusty "Rain Man"?
