I heard one of those rooms in the empty building across the street has one of those magic fingers beds in it. We'll throw a cord out the window to a generator for you. Will that do?

edit: Oh and we'll get you some incense.

Once again I remind you all if you get too far out of line and duct taping to a tree or dunking in the sewage lagoon doesn't cool one down there is the last resort, the four season comfort Cedar Vale jail.

We are getting near on the Marley T-shirt. Here is a picture of what it should look like. Remember all proceeds above cost will go the the Caring Hands Shelter in Newton, KS. That is where we adopted Marley from and are now a no kill shelter.

 24 days .

Some folks have asked about how to help , and those of you who have attended know we aren't afraid to ask for assistance . So in that light ...

We need someone to Shepard the aluminum can recycling containers  maybe 3 volunteers so no one is overwhelmed. we will provide some type of containers .

Someone needs to make sure everyone signs the guestbook , and don't argue with this person , just sign the book , alright ?

The stage floor always becomes a bit of a mess , and can be hard to keep organized . Want to try something different this year , set up a couple of tables and keep everything on them , make things easier to find . So we need a couple of volunteers to oversee this .

Event coordinators , boy that sounds kinda sexy doesn't it ? Anyway , since we have several attendees this year who have never came before , it might be nice if a couple of us in addition to the Sultan armed themselves with information about the proceedings . Seems every year we answer a million questions  Get with Dave or me when you arrive if you are willing .

We will pick up the bulk of food from the local grocery store at 4 PM or so , we will need a few volunteers and a pick up truck . Who is willing ?
We have a charge account at the store , if we need something and I ask anyone at any time to make the trip , just put the items on our account .

Food prep ; with the new cookers we have , the actual 2 hours of chaos on Saturday evening should be a bit less crazy . We still need some tasks performed . John Henry always leads the potato peeling and slicing team , he knows the drill , we just need a couple of folks with good sharp knives to assist him starting around 5 PM on Saturday . It only takes about 15 minutes for 3 people , but it is an important job . Plus John is really funny

The fish come in boxes and needs to be thawed and rinsed , then dried . This is a messy job , but doesn't take too long . Volunteer to help with this and you will be a hero to me . We will try to have a better system this year for accomplishing this task . If any of you who are driving have a clean 5 gallon bucket to bring , please do so . We can use about 3 of them , one needs to have some holes drilled in it .

Keeper of the list ; Oh man , this takes some focus , every year we miss something , who is willing to keep a notebook and attempt to keep me calm and focused for two days . Trust me , this job is not easy

OK , and this is the task no one wants , but is very important . Fortunately JC 85 has volunteered to lead the cleanup crew late Saturday evening . He has at least one person lined up to help , it would be nice if some of our other younger attendees volunteered also . I am always so blown out after cooking on Saturday that about all I am capable of is some vague hand motions and a few unintelligible grunts . So we will provide some direction earlier, but basically we need to dispose of trash , clean up the stage , wash the concrete fllor under where we have been prepping and cooking food , and get everything packed up . Seriously if 5 people work for about 15 minutes the task can be completed .

 Thanks

 Dusty

I plan to take the travel trailer and truck.  You're welcome to use it.

I can also bring some additional food and supplies with me.  So give me a list and I'll be glad to.   Since we chatted about beer I thought I'd bring along a couple of PBR 30 packs.  I've got an extra ice chest.  In the past I've brought a couple of smoked racks of ribs, I could do that again.

We aim to be there well ahead of the Saturday festivities (fingers crossed) and if so, I can help with the grocery run.  And if you can, somebody bring an extra paring knife or two.  I can't cook a lick but I'm not too bad at peeling potatoes.  Like Rudy says, if I can stay awake long enough I'll be glad to help clean up.

Friday , or even Thursday is good . By Saturday I am so busy it is impossible to really visit with anyone . In 2018 a friend from California and his wife showed up at about 3:PM on Saturday , looked right at him and his face didn't even register in my brain

Someone bring Sarah a paring knife

Good morning happy campers , it is April 15 , the day I chose as kind of an arbitrary day to make a final decision . There isn't any data indicating we can't do this , at least not if we practice some basic safety measures .

In that light , no kissing , fair enough ? Seriously , do be careful , but most if not all of us have been vaccinated , as has the population of Cedar Vale . At this time we are cautiously optimistic , be smart , be careful , let's do this .

We still need at least two more volunteers for the cleanup crew , not a sexy job , but you will earn my everlasting respect .

Someone needs to make sure everyone signs the guestbook , and don't argue with this person , just sign the book , alright ?

I'll cover this one Dusty as per PM.

I'll also have special 2021 Cedar Vale stickers available for this rally, plus a few "limited edition" ones.

If people don't feel comfortable using a shared pen, please use your own to sign the guest book.

 The clean up crew is pretty well set ;

JC 85 and his buddy , Tom Kelly , and Sarah Greer . Some others can kick in for a few minutes , and voila , we have a clean pavilion .

Richard and Chuck G , you both know the cooking drill , kinda hate to ask much more from you guys . We'll need one more for that crew , probably Wes will round us out , since Gliderjohn's mom and wife will be there hated to take him away from them , although knowing John he will probably still pitch in, some folks are just gonna help no matter what .

Hoping we have some type of flat top to grill some fish and taters on , like we did last Fall , that worked out well .Doug ?

Event coordinators ? Anyone ? Beaver , are you coming ? Someone has to keep Prescott lined out . This year I think we will stage Saturday evening a little different , maybe get the meal and cleanup out of the way , then start the auction , of course like Hobbits , we can keep snacking after the main meal , but thinking we will start feeding about 5:30 and finish up by 6:15 give the clean up crew some time to do their job , then start the auction about 7:00 . Does anyone see a problem with this ?

 Thanks Sarah .

If we time this right , and we can get everyone moving in the right direction for just a few minutes after the Saturday evening meal , this will go pretty smoothly . We just need about 4 dedicated people to focus on the area where we prep and cook for a few minutes , then we can all relax and enjoy the auction .
