six pack
« on: April 28, 2015, 11:25:52 PM »
Mine.  I don't think I'm going to get to see it after all.
Having now dropped 37 lb. of fat since I began this program, I thought I would get a look at my old six pack.
But noooo, that's not allowed.  Where I used to have a spare tire around the middle, I now have a deflated inner tube.
The fat is gone but the skin is still there.  So I'll say this about that,---

I just live by the theory that food that doesn't go in my mouth, won't make me fat.

My 6' 160 lb 14 year old has inherited my body, from 20 years ago.  He wrestles for his school, constantly works the heavy bag, barbells, jump rope and has a six pack of steel.

I finally threw in the towel and gave him all of my size 32x32 Levis I've been hanging on to since 1994, kidding myself that I'd get back into them.  So far I maintain the advantage when wrestling him as he doesn't want to hurt the old man but sparring with him in gloves and me with the punch mitts is frightening.

So far I've dropped 30 lbs but have about 20 more to go.  Six pack for me?  More likely an empty goatskin bota.

Keep going Jim!

Good job Jim, keep it up & encourage others to eat real food & get some exercise. Too many men some not even retired keel over with a club in their hand.

Good for him! Reminds me of my 20 year old son, who is a bit smaller than your boy, but similarly built like a piece of wire. His 'thing' is martial arts and of course weightlifting. And yes, abs like an Acqua di Gio model.

I hope they keep up with their fitness regime their entire lives--getting old is about getting weak, not necessarily about getting fat. Strength is the enemy of age.

I think that's Carly Simon circa 1972 . . .  "No Secrets" album cover?  Flippity flappity floop was the name of her big lips competition with Mick Jagger.*

At first, your inner tube description reminded me of the guy from the early tire ads.

But that picture looks like a guy dressed up in donuts instead.  :D

But his inner tubes are inflated to protect him when he falls off those steel wheel roller skates.
