$9k for a V50II, even one that's (allegedly) like new? You could get a new V7 for that - and not worry about rear-drive pinion bearings and possible exhaust valve issues. And not have to deal with the remote front brake reservoir and master cylinder and stretchy cable and poor front brake response. And have something more than 32.5 mousepower.

No surprise that much was sunk into a restoration, but other than wildly-appreciating exotics, the only people to make money on restorations are the restorers. This one looks like mine did when it was new, long before I got it. Nice, but nice try on the price. fun bike and better when sorted and with problems mentioned above fixed. III has a bit more power and is worth perhaps a bit more. But nowhere near this!

Is this a "gee, dear, nobody wants it, guess I'll have to keep it" ad by any chance?

Happened to see this ad couple of days ago and quite frankly had a good laugh at the price and also the comment that it had "a nut and bolt job in 2001" means exactly what IN REAL TERMS??.Amazed at some of the preposterous claims and prices that dealers ask for but I wonder what they eventually get for them? Perhaps they get lucky occasionally but surely at the expense of their own credibility. I have heard that in general Dealers prefer standard bikes but lots still try to claim that because it has this and that aftermarket part it makes it much more desirable, well I bet that they told the person they bought it from that those "desirable"extras were not going to add any value at all.Its also funny how the colour of the bike your selling to them(if you do Px they have you over a barrel anyway...)is not so sought after but the one being sold to you is the best colour. I expect we all have some pet peeves with buying and selling and I have found some very good dealers who have absolutely done the right thing(for me at least) and would recommend them to others because of this-then you look at some ads and think not to bother them....

Have a look at MotorcycleNews used bikes and there is a Guzzi California that's had "140 manhours "spent polishing and rebuilding.he wants HOW MUCH!!!Just because he decided 140hrs spent at his OWN garage was going to be reclaimed on selling the bike don't mean ****.Looks damn nice though, but at that price really?

I don't think they care much about their "credibility" - they're getting lucky often enough to justify doing it.

If this bike was at Cycle Garden it would probably be priced higher than THIS.   They don't have any "credibility" among people who ride, but they find that grossly overpricing bikes and then selling them at "whatever" price is a business model that works for them.

Like the spider building a web at the bottom of the playground slide "I only need to catch ONE ...."

Legally, there's nothing wrong with this technique.   Any sale is a voluntary agreement between two people, and as long as the seller tells no lies, the law can't do anything about it.

Ethically, I consider anyone who does this to be a dishonest crook, and I wouldn't deal with him.

Look in his window on Street view

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.3997125,-0.1968606,3a,75y,137.96h,78.33t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sAW8kZbwEjStgNNqoW EzvcA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

and I reckon you can see most of the stock listed in his Ebay shop

Thing is the Streetview is dated September 2014.

Rents must be very cheap on Morden Court Parade.
