[Pix Added] "Honey Do" Work Avoidance Ride Today
« on: October 07, 2015, 06:24:55 AM »

Kathi's out of town for a few days, but, of course, knowing my propensity to ... uhm ... get distracted, left me a list.  :thewife:

That won't do.

So, I am getting ready to ride over to Accident, Maryland, this morning.  :bike-037:

What a name for a town, and especially for one for my destination, a motorcycle shop.  Going to check out the Aprilia Superstore, purportedly "the nation's premier Aprilia dealer."  http://apriliasuperstore.com

We shall see.

But it's an important mission that must get done.

I am going over to get a fastener.

Don't want to call ahead, as they might not have it in stock, and there would go my excuse for a fine ride.

And, there's almost no bad way to get there and back.

Calling might also jeopardize breakfast at the School House Kitchen in Old Town.  https://www.facebook.com/School-House-Kitchen-238232342897111/timeline/

Haven't been there before, and, in fact, wasn't aware of it, but can't miss that now.

Ciao ... and chow!

Bill

Ah yes, the run for a nut or screw.  Just make sure not to forget the list, I did once and discovered what happens when the latter works on the former.

Just saying.

Enjoy that ride.

The assumption was that, it being such a beautiful day, you'd take the LOOOONG way 'round to the Aprilia shop.

Fay's out today caring for her Mom, so I took the opportunity to get out and ride and run a few errands too ....

Good work Bill.  I have been kind of trying to sand and paint a small 2 square foot window for the last two weeks.  Everytime I try and start I remember I need to go to the paint store and get some thinner.  As luck would have it they only had gallon jugs, which won't fit in the small tailbag, so I end up riding across the county to another store, but now they are closed.  I will probably try tomorrow again.  Any paint stores near you?

Well, I made it back after a grand day on the road.  Only 230 miles, but nearly all were fine ones.

And, naturally, the fasteners I needed weren't in stock, but c'est la vie ... as you know, that's French for "who cares?"

Yes, Bob, you are on to something.  We could run errands for other Guzzisti, telling Our Dear Leaders that we are just helping fellow motorcyclists in need.

And, Charlie, as for the passes being clear, it was surprisingly cold up there.  Mesh was the very wrong choice.  I didn't thaw 'til I came off the mountain at Bloomington.  Brrrrrr.

[Whoa.  On whim, looked up SR 381.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maryland_Route_381

Think John A was pulling legs!   I bit.]

Anyway, here are some pix -- not quite up to Daniel Kalal's level  -- of the ride.

Looks like you had a great day.  Thanks for the pictures.  Pace yourself with those chores, and stacking that designer firewood.
