Zumo 550 for parts
« on: August 09, 2016, 01:33:13 PM »
Used, cantankerous and unreliable Zumo 550 for sale for parts. Replaced with a new, but discontinued, heavily discounted Zumo 665 with XM radio.

This unit was refurbished by Garmin 2-ish years ago. Usually works fine in cradle. Occasionally will not fire up so I remove battery and most times it come on. But three times it dd not fire up when I needed it to work, so it got replaced. all buttons work, screen is perfect. unit looks good.

I recommend it for parts. Make it worth my while to ship it to you.

A lot of the older 550's, mine included, had issues with the touch screen. I bought a refurb (which was essentially new) from Garmin, after 5 years of use, had the same problem with it out of the box, sent it back under warranty, and its replacement has worked well ever since. I think the two of them have lasted me almost 10 years and probably 200,000 km. I do have 2 cradles that I share among 3-4 bikes, which helps with the cradle issues.

Sometimes, it just will not turn on. In the cradle. With battery Without battery. Direct USB connection. I've been throught the testing with Garmin several times. I got a 665 with XM radio to replace it.
