Not a whole lot more to tell, really.  The major difference this year is that I talked the campground into letting us have tent camping in the open field above the pavilion, between the pavilion and the cabins.  (NOT in the playground area below the pavilion for those who might have been there before.)  So, camping is now half a mile closer to the rally, and a quarter mile closer to the bath house!  Other than that, pretty much as before: rally fee $30 includes pancake & sausage breakfast Friday & Saturday plus Wild Bill's Chili Saturday night, tent camping $6 per person/night, call the campground for cabin rental (probably no cabins left at this stage, but you might get lucky.)  Campground store has ice, few groceries, etc. and Bill's (not Sharp, no relation) Bar & Restaurant has good food a couple of miles from the campground.

Location is Little Orleans, MD about 10 miles south (on a twisty road) from Exit 68 off of Interstate 68.

Call my voice mail, email or PM if you need more info.

I'm looking forwards to going! Glad we'll be closer to the pavilion too!
yeah, I might be addicted to brake fluid. But I can stop any time I want.

I wanted to come and meet some of you guys, since I'm new to the scene and all (plus my ride down would have been AWESOME), but unfortunately am booked for that weekend.  I'll be there in spirit though.

Hopefully someone will post some photos of the gathering!

2016 is not going well. Not one single rally for me.
This time I'm in Germany on business.

Just checked with the campground lady on the phone, and she tells me that us Guzzi guys will have the "Pavilion" area as Howard noted above, and there will also be a BMW Airhead rally in the "back" tent camping area that we were in before.

I'll wager that we'll have quite a bit in common with the Airhead guys; probably the same width of suspenders although a different color ....

Nuts. Sorry guys. I had something come up and now I can't afford to come. I'll be thinking of y'all as I work this weekend! At least, with me not there, it'll be quieter. ;-)

Sorry to hear that.   It WILL be quieter   , but we'll miss you!

As time goes on I'm trying not to miss too many rallies - there aren't that many more to go!

Rich, sorry to hear you can't make it, we'll have a bowl of chili for you.

I'm heading over on Thursday to set up, if anyone wants to arrive early to help it will be much appreciated.

Howard

PS Bill already made the chili, so no Saturday night riots will occur!

Tammy and I will be rolling in late Friday. Will be our first time there, looking forward to it. Catching 522 off of 60 just a little west of Richmond and riding it most of the way. Haven't rode 522 in a few years, but as I recall it's a good and scenic road. Maybe a quick stop by Winchester Motorsports. Anyone rode 522 lately?

From Powhatan (where 522 starts) up through Goochland, Gum Spring, etc, it's a nice country road most of the way, going through little towns and junctions.   Gets a bit crowded going through Culpeper and Winchester (the D.C. stain has spread all the way out there) ... then a nice scenic 4-lane north of Winchester for a bit.   Then down to two lanes through Berkeley Springs, there can be a lot of trucks taking a short cut from Breezewood down to I-81 ....

BUT overall it's not bad.   It's the way I'd go were I coming from Richmond up to the rally!

Just concluded we'll not be able to make it. Bags are packed, strapped down and bike was ready to go. Unfortunately I have an issue, work related, that needs a resolution tomorrow. Maybe next year.

A brief report from the rally.  (Photos thanks to Dan Heacock.)

There was riding, apparently on some rather dusty roads.

There was Bill's famous chili Saturday night.

Dad Joey is ready for another bowl, son Nicholas is still working on this one.

There was some external combustion.

There was a full moon.  THAT explains it!!!

Every good thing must come to an end, time to go.

I hope all those who attended had a good time.  (Seemed that way.)

So how many people showed up?

I think I counted 21 on the sign-up sheet.   A LOT of people who are usually there did not make it, but there was a pretty good group nonetheless ....
