I'm busily planning a trip around Wales camping at night

I found the statement below on one camp site (states bikers welcome) which all looks good until you get to the last sentence.

All certificated site facilities.
Toilet emptying,
Average treatment time:
with water point to wash out toilets,
drinking water tap,
waste water disposal,
water tap to wash out containers.

Due to the Mountains there is no TV signal, satellite needed to view TV.

Tents
Have to be self contained as we have no toilet and shower block at present.

Any on here like to suggest what I'm supposed to do

Same with my S.O.  Three stars is a hotel, two stars is camping.  We stayed in a place in the Caribbean that had an open air shower.  She is still talking about it 15 years later.  :thewife:

It means you need to carry a 'porta-jon'.  If just need to take a leak a bottle works.  They do state waste water disposal so you have someplace to dump it.

Pee in a bottle.

Crap in a bag.  Back packers are often required to carry out their waste.
Carry handsanitizer and baby wipes.  Dispose of properly.

We stayed at Riverside Camping near Caernarfon a couple of years ago. It was just before the TT in May so was quite quiet, but they were very nice and the place seemed in good shape.

There is a great story from Yvonn Chouinard and Royal Robyn climbing El Capitian in the 60's... Climbers typically would crap in bags and pack it out or chuck it...
Robins on lead finds a nice ledge 150' above Chouinard and craps in a bag then hurls it off only to to blown back in and the bag explodes as it clobbers Chouinard...lol he spent the rest of the climb covered in crap.

Only one campsite I fancy so far and that's the Hendre Mynach site at Barmouth because I can walk to town for eats and drinks. Not been yet though

You could try youth hostels, Wales has some great ones. I'm 50 and have had a great experience staying in them. Many do meals, or have a pub nearby. Dry and warm.

Wonder why they call them "youth hostels"?

Do they card you when you show up?   What's the age limit?   Or why not just "hostels"?

Just traditional I suppose Lannis. They are often brilliant to stay in, in magnificent locations. I used to be a YHA member, now just pay full price. Last time i was there i spoke to two "lads" in their 70s on a cycling trip.
