V7 Bar riser info?
« on: April 27, 2018, 01:38:58 AM »
I remember reading (or at least THINK I remember) that BMW R1150 (?) bar risers worked on the V7.  Is this correct, or, if not, which is a very real possibility, anybody know what does work?  I'd like to add an inch to the height on my 2015 V7.

I added the Genmar riser on my 2013 v7 stone. I had to file the holes to the inside of the bracket to make the bolts line up to the holes on the bike. it took  about an hour of fiddling. Since filed to the large side of the bracket no loss in structural integrity.

Don't know about the Beemer parts, but Harper's has some that will fit. Bought a pair ($99.00), fit perfectly. I have not actually used them yet as you have to re-route all cables and wiring behind the forks and it looks like a longer hydraulic line to the front brake. I am waiting until I replace the fuel filter, then do all that at once.

I got some generic risers based on the bar diameter and the hole spacing. They worked fine. Cables had plenty of room the only one that was tight was the clutch cable. At 1 inch it was maxed out.

this one is next up on my mod list.  I, however, have a V7/50 with the engraved dog-clamp thing so the odds of me finding something that looks/works remotely well with that are slim.  Thus I’m apt to just replace the bars which would accomplishmuch the same thing.  Somebody mentioned the Bikemaster 110550 as having more rise and pullback.  Given the price,  I may try those first.
