Today's the first day since last week the temperature reading will have two digits in it, so no bike rides for me until probably March at the earliest.

Question,  did those MZ's have a Yamaha engine?

Question,  did those MZ's have a Yamaha engine?

The 660 cc MZs were Yamaha powered - Skorpion Tour,Traveler, Sport, Sport Cup Replica, Baghira.

The earlier 500s were Rotax powered - Saxon Tour, Saxon Country, Silver Star Classic/Gespann

There were later MZs with "in-house" engines - 125s and the 1000S/SF.

Before the Berlin Wall fell, most everything was 2-stroke.

Charlie is right of course. It's a Yamaha 660 single. Counterbalanced. Five valves. two into 1 exhaust. Weird Harold twin carburators that work well once sorted and a *good* fuel filter installed. As I mentioned, not a thumper. Needs to be kept on the boil, not happy below 3500 rpm. Buzzy above 5500, but makes good power. Boring as a BMW though.. If that chassis had a Guzzi engine, it would be Melissa's perfect motorcycle.

Yep, Central Texas was near 70 today after single digits last Friday.   Just a short, one hour jaunt on the '04 Breva 750, but it recharged my "battery" as well as the Breva's.

I have two other, newer bikes (non-Guzzi) but when I want an emotional lift they remain in the garage. and the Guzzi comes out.  The Breva is about at the upper end of my weight management ability, but I am very careful at stops and navigating into and out of the garage and we have remained upright so far!

Yes, met some friends for lunch at a favorite diner about 50 miles north.
Dealt with over salted roads, shadowy icy spots and surprised cagers.

Way too much fun.

Well, had to get the sun on the ones that sit & warmer air in the space they're at. So, wanted to get the EV out for a spin, it was over 60.

I'm waiting on 6 more bolts to install a clutch in a Stelvio, imagine that, 54Kmi.  You can buy a clutch but not hardware, gets chewed up from springs crunching around inside.
Trying not to get condensation from deep cold to warm on the bikes.

No.... but rode yesterday.

58 to start and 70 degrees at sunset.  Nice day with more sun than clouds.  Windy.

Got home with just enough daylight to garden-hose-wash and leaf-blower-dry the bike.

Yup , got an 80 miler in today . Temps in the mid 50’s . Recent rain washed most salt off the roads . A few ice patches on the inside of shady corners to keep ya on your toes , but outstanding conditions for December in western MA ! Plan is to scoot up to my favorite Guzzi shop in Gill MA tomorrow & get home before the afternoon rain ! :thumb:

Last ride of the year for me.  50F temp, wet, salty roads, but no rain.  Riding with caution, I didn't want to find out how slippery the road was.
I only took a short ride around the block just over the border into Salisbury CT.  Maybe 25ish miles.
Dirty bike.  Nice ride.  Happy New Year

Taking one of the PCX 150 to do errands.  A scooter works better than the Strada.  Hack is down because of the shift return spring in the trans. Last minute shopping for tonight.  Fireworks, beer and food. Happy New Year! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Wet and rainy new year's eve but that will clear the salt for a new year's day ride. NJ weather will be in the mid-50's so expect to log an hour or two.

Took the little red Honda out today for a whopping 61 miles, half of that being gravel roads out and around the river.

Looks like we may get a short break from the rain so maybe a short traditional New Years Day ride. If not, a day in the shop experimenting with winglets on a temporary windshield on my V7. I have been screwing around for years trying to eliminate buffeting.
