Close, Null means no.
Arbor means tree or wood.

No trees

Steve
Yeah mate, dead right.
I would have been all over that if it’d been someone else, I’ll have plenty of time to ponder that en route.... :thumb:

If that’s an ‘84 model, it’ll be close to the start of the 110’s.
The early ones had lighter spokes and smaller brakes along with some other changes, but still the rock of Gibraltar reliability.

Amazing sport. Doing the most with the least. Both gritty and edgy as well as timelessly classic. Kudo.

Pete,
How goes the shoulder?
Ive had 4 shoulder repairs, 3 on rh, 1 on left.
You should almost be able to wipe your arse with your dominate hand, if that was the one they worked on,  a great and obvious milestone in recovery.
Full motion and strength, well that takes longer, depending on what they did and how they did it.
Bring your warm gear, its dropping down to 0 or just below on the western side of the range in southern qld.

The arse thing is ok..(just..). Left hand good enough at a pinch if no one takes too close a look..
Everything I used my right hand for can now be done as well as before...
Seriously though, I am going to benefit from the next 13 days of R&R before departure, but I really think I’ll be ok.
I’ll just head off in between - lockdowns, I’ve had my 1st Astra Zeneca shot and will get the follow up just prior to leaving.
I have exactly the same gear that I use in Europe (Northern Norway etc...) in that ubiquitous red bag on the little Honda, it will suffice I reckon. My (calculated) fuel range should be around 450 k on the road and whatever in the slow stuff.
Open face helmet with industrial clear and tinted safety glasses options on board.
Can’t think of much else...You can fix anything with a wallet, mobile and GPS.
ps..
As for the wiping thing..
You can have hours of fun with those bubble taps the kids have at primary schools.

I can go there after hours for a tidy up... :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Another change of plan..
I was going to leave on the July 3, but cannot stand waiting any longer. I’m leaving for Apollo Bay in the morning, it’s about 250 km and I will stay there tomorrow night.
Monday morning it’s around to Cape Otway (30 km) and off to Cape York for the first leg (4,000 k).

Good idea, go WEST young man avoid the current NSW - cluster and the upcomming QLD cluster.
QLD currently has border restrictions for just about anyone who went near Sydney.
Stay tuned in to the current  border status, WA is on such a roll they may successfully remove themselves from the federation and declare themselves  independent and not recognise anything east of the SA border. Might be worth it just to stop the whining.
Have fun

We aren't game enough to go into NSW atm for fear of not getting back into QLD.

I’ve only been away one day and that fluffy creature is looking good already..!
Actually.
‘Took some shots this morning at Cape Otway and started off North. I wanted to change some equipment set up so have gotten back to Creswick with 500 k on the Honda, I will cross into NSW tomorrow at Echuca.
Departed the Cape in my usual understated way after dealing with the media throng..!
I felt that a simple form of dress was in order and chose this Cape style cape. I thought it de rigeur for such ground breaking missions..!

All a bit low key, but I’m sure the upcoming few weeks will be chock full of hilarious hijinx. It looks like you’ve done ok when you look at this..

But not when you look at this... (Gulp..!)

Interestingly, the first 200 km took 5.9 litres and that was a mix of flat and mountain hills. With 17 useable litres on board, I should have safe 500 k range.
Oh, one more thing..
For those that noticed the “C” is obscured on the “Cape” word making it look like “Ape....”
Yes, we know...
Those “C” words will bring you unstuck every time !

Thanks Dan and all the previous well wishers. Believe it or not, the complete lack of dissenting comments regarding this episode, have really helped to quell some of the fear related to it’s enormity..

I will be meeting another guy with a history on WG as I go North and he will be doing a section of the trip with me.
He doesn’t post much these days, but the mechanical knowledge he brings could prove quite valuable...
