Help please, I'd like an adjustable brake lever
« on: May 11, 2021, 07:47:50 AM »
I think I told some of you my tale of woe at Cedar Vale: I was merrily pushing my bike along with the side stand down, just aiming to move up a few yards.  I wasn't paying close attention and the side stand hit a hump in the pavement causing the bike to launch away from me like it was shot out of a barrel.  And in front of a whole line of traffic coming into Big Bend National Park.  Oh well.  Anyhow, I can use the bent brake lever but just barely, so I'd like to upgrade to an adjustable one.  I think some of you have had good luck with the Ebay levers, could you tell me which one specifically?  When I try to click on the links posted in old threads nothing comes up.  Thanks!

Sarah, I’ve found that these levers are relatively soft and I have simply bent them back to useable several times on my trail bikes. You may can even do this on the bike if it’s not too bad. This being said, I have no idea on how much it’s bent so this may not apply. Good luck👍

Thanks Dan, my fingers are fairly short so I've wanted an adjustable lever from the start.  I've just been a little lost on what to buy, I'd rather not pay for a pricey one if a quality cheaper version will work just as well.  Thanks again!

I bought a cheaper pair that I used for quite some time, but removed them because the clutch side didn't leave much space for one- or two-finger controlling. If that's not important for you, you're welcome to try them out.

Adjustable levers for some Yamahas fit my Audace. I bent mine in a tip over. I got some after market levers before trying to straighten the bent stock lever. I used a vise to straighten it, looks brand new.

Whoops, a 2016 V7II.

Thanks, everybody.  According to the pazzo chart, the California models and the Audace use a different lever than the Brevas, V7, and V9, which all share the same part number along with the Griso, Norge, Stelvio, and 1200 Sport.

Thanks for the kind offer Dirk, but I just need a brake lever, and I'd like for it to be black so it might better match the clutch side.  Let's see if somebody can remember what they bought.  Thanks again.

Sarah,

CNC levers are an option for you...I've got a few pairs installed...they are cheaper than Pazzo's (also very good quality).

These should work for you here:

Sarah

These are not folding, I've also had shorter levers on road bikes, I'd like to describe the experience as crap but it wasn't that good. See how you go generally Moto Guzzi use Brembo brake parts so parts that also fit Ducati's Aprilia's BMW's and some Yamaha's will cross over.

Thanks Murray, I wasn't sure about the short levers so I ordered the long ones, hope they'll be OK.  Stay tuned, we shall see.  Thanks again.

They look just the same as the ones my stepson bought me for Christmas (and I got about 3 weeks ago due to - constraints/saving postal costs) and they bolted straight onto my V9

Oh Lordy, that was a long wait.  Maybe things have eased up a bit these days.

Thank you Sarh. Yes, they would look great on my bike. The red color is almost the same on my bike, plus there is enough black and silver color too.

Also as I quickly checked them over the standard ones ... with these I should be able to adjust break lever and clutch lever more close to handlebar grips. This was what I was looking for. So yes, I hope they will fit.
