  Being old and fat .

Other than that , very little upsets me except the word "groovy" , and no one uses it much any more , which means we are back to old and fat

 Dusty

Working odometers are groovy!

So is having a bathtub full of gasoline!

A lot of vintage ‘restored’ motorcycles featured in magazines where the owner says the bike has been completely restored and in the next paragraph claims he inspected the engine, determined it to be sound and didn’t open up the cases and inspect the internals. There was a V7 Sport featured in a popular American vintage motorcycle magazine where this exact description was noted, original chrome bores left alone, bearings not inspected, crank not measured. Restored means returned to original specified tolerances and that requires inspection and measurements with a micrometer.

I don’t mind someone not getting into the cases to get a rider running.  I worry when I see sandblasted or vapor blasted engines that weren’t disassembled. I get the willys just thinking about it.

Small, oddly placed, turn signals on some modern cars. Doesn't the DOT mandate size and placement any more?

My pet peeve is seeing Steve McQueen's signature gracing every 4th or 5th bike Triumph builds.

How do you get a celebrity endorsement from someone 40 years after they died?

Yeah, turn signals placed right next to full time headlights. Geez.

I saw a small "crossover" yesterday that had the rear signals in the bumper! WTF? No additional signal higher placed either.

I hate tail tidys. Especially the ones where the license plate is smashed up in the wheel well. They almost always look trashy and don't function very well.

That said, I hate the Yamaha turn signals that they've used since 1995.

After watching American Hotrod/car modifying/chopper building shows over the last 15 years I didn't think there was ANY DOT mandated laws over there.
Serious question, how the hell do they get these type of vehicles registered or keep them registered?

FED. DOT. has regulations on height, color and distance apart for manufacturers.  Interpretations by the states can change state to state for older cars, rebuilds & home builds.

My pet peeve is being educated by someone who doesn't know what they're talking about.

For example, dude in his early 20s asks me how far I can "ride a wheelie."
"You ride a motorcycle. You can pop a wheelie or pull a wheelie but you don't ride a wheelie."

Even worse "Can you do an endo?"
"Man, I hope not! An endo is short for end over end - cartwheeling a motorcycle. I've done it on a dirt bike but hope to never do it on a street bike."
No, Dude - an endo is when you do a wheelie on the front wheel!
"That's a stoppie - an endo is a crash."
Dude, you need to keep up with the latest lingo.
"One of us does."

I REALLY hate when someone finds out I ride motorcycles and then tells me about someone who was injured or killed on one. Not really a pet peeve - annoying on a much more basic level.

My pet peeve is the notion that "its their bike, they can do what they like with it". I understand that it's anyone's choice to modify the way they choose as long as they accept that once they have finished with it someone else has to deal with the way it has been modified. In the end we are only the guardian of the bikes we own, and we have a responsibility to leave them in a condition that we would like to find them for ourselves. We've all found desirable rare bikes that have been treated badly over the years and it just breaks your heart (and your wallet)

This right here!!! I cannot keep track of how many serious car/pickup accidents I see vs bike accidents! When people start going on about how “dangerous” bikes are I just look at them and say “thank goodness people never die in car accidents”.

Drivers who drive slowly in the left lanes. “Slower traffic KEEP RIGHT”!!! Either let ‘er eat or move over!!! And no, 5 mph over the speed limit is not reason to be in the hammer lane!

And another thing. Drivers failing to dim their lights! Makes me want forcibly put their light out. Inconsiderate jerks!

I'm a firm believer that if someone gets caught texting behind the wheel it would be fitting to have a public stoning like in the Monty Python movie life of Brian. Revenue from selling rocks should be donated to bikers too old to throw a leg over any more.  :thumb:

"MG" for Moto Guzzi. Is it really that hard to type "Guzzi"? MG to me is a British car - Morris Garages.
