I have always liked the Quota, especially in that champagne/blue color. How does it compare overall ,to the V 85 TT? Is the TT that much better to make it worth the extra $$, when nice quotas like this are available for a "song"?

I think it is really a fundamentally different bike than the V85tt.  The Quota is tall and it is an (old?) big block motor and a traditional five speed.  I've never owned one, but I sure like the idea of owning one.  Upright seating position could be comfortable if the seat is good.  They had a single throttle body, I believe?   There were some fueling (surging) issues with some- but I thought there were updated maps.  Not sure about that, so check before believing me.
Early production run rims tended to crack also, IIRC.

I believe there was an updated ECU, but not sure if it was just a map or the entire ECU got swapped.

There is also a beetle map available to help them run better ... that is if you have surging that is related to a bad map.

Mine was running great ... but very rich (turning plugs black) ... I put in the beetle map and plugs look great now, and it still runs well.

Totally different animals. The Quota is old-school Moto Guzzi.

Thus...the wind buffeting off the factory fairing will knock you senseless. For the typical American (height). Just like an SP 1000/SP II.

At least Moto Guzzi came out with two windshield configurations for the V85 TT/Adventure.

Though I do miss my Champagne/Petroleum Blue Quota that I flew down to Texas to buy, and rode home to Michigan (at the time). I ended up trading it for a 1973 El Dorado.

I'm on my second. It's a big dualsport that feels indestructible. It's a lot of bike for $3,200.00.  Champagne and blue is ultra rare.

I didn't see where it says what year it is.  How much do these bikes weigh?  Do you have to drop the pan to change the oil filter?

No lightweight but very sturdy, it's 110% of a BMW R100GS- 10% heavier, 10% more torque, and at least 10% more fuel! While the R100GS stretched the design limits of the airhead maybe a bit to far, the Quota has better brakes, will pull a sidecar 80 MPH into a 30 MPH headwind without straining , and runs cooler to boot.

That's exactly the Quota I want. The blue one like the one in MS. I'm just a little shy of $3200 at the moment. What a deal.
