1.2 degrees here. Keep your companions safe indoors, as much as you can.

Not even garage time. It’s 15F here and snowing those dry flakes.  The ocean is roaring in the distance from heavy winds last night. I really wish we had a cat or two for fireside lazing.

From today's newspaper -

" A low of 51F, and a high of 72F. A shower or two today. "

Definitely no riding today.

That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Hopefully it will warm up some by the 17th.
Full moon, all night hiking. Those coyote eyes glow so bright when I bounce a light off their eyes.

Here in central NC the weather stations are advising around 5” in the next 48 hours. So no milk or bread on any of the grocery stores shelves  today.
I got in a nice little ride around the neighborhood yesterday on the ole CB1000C. The temp was low 50s however the full Vetter offered a comfortable calm cockpit.

Had a nice ride yesterday, cloudy and mid 60s.  This morning it's 22 and dropping, high wind chill and flurries.   Glad a I grilled those steaks on the patio last night.

It was -11°F yesterday where we woke up.

Reached 0°F midday on the mountain.

It's -6°F here right now, but supposed to make it up to 20°F here later.

I can't wait for spring.

Yup , frigid temps here too , playing with  0 degree temps . Not enough ice for racing yet organizer hopes to have 12’ by next Sunday ! I thought about going for a short put , the roads are pretty clean . If that heated thong weren’t on back order I’d go . Oh , too much information?

The dog runs the cat off until the cat decides not to run off. Then they are friends.?  The dog is a more reliable lap heater but the cat has a better sense of humor and has disappeared. It’s 18F, -8C and yesterday I plowed the new snow from the doors to the motorbikes stashed around the place in case I decide to get one in the shop to do unspeakable experiments to it. It’s supposed to snow in Shreveport sometime this weekend. I lived there in ‘83 when the Red River froze over, first time in a hundred years they said . The Red River of the north is on the other side of Minnesota and it’s frozen. I’m on the east bank of the Mississippi, it’s got frozen spots but I digress

John, your cat hasn't come back?
Try taking your dog out, call out the cat's name.
Good chance your dog will find him, or your cat will come to you both.
I have had dogs that found many lost cats and dogs.

Thanks ,that’s a good idea except the cat has been gone a long time and I expect he has expired. I was at the animal shelter a couple years ago and they were filled with cats, wall to wall, top to bottom. Heartbreaking. Now I use so much mouse poison that I can keep out of reach for the dog but a cat could get to it so it’s not an option now.

59F Thursday, with abundant sunshine.  We managed a couple hundred two lane miles.

Snow Saturday (3") with temps around 30 degrees.  15F this morning.  Blue skies and sunshine though.

Five of us for the 1st MD/DC Guzzi Breakfast of '22: Ginger and Don Sheibley, John Cannon, Blaine Paulus Jr. and myself. Only one of us was intrepid enough to ride their motorcycle (Blaine of course). It was 14 F when I left the house and might have been 20 F by time we left Frederick.

Snowing now and hovering around 20 F.

Next breakfast is February 20th - hopefully it will be warmer then.

Sorry to hear that John. Cats like to be independent.
Instead of poison, I use a 5 gallon bucket 1/4 full of water. Old empty small plastic water bottle spinning on a wire from a coat hanger.
Put butter or peanut butter on it, use a walk up for the mouse, plywood strip or something similar.
Mouse walks up the ramp, goes for the goo, falls in the water.
Something like this
