Hey Dusty -- here's your fracking report (ngc)

http://news.yahoo.com/hidden-faults-explain-earthquakes-fracking-zones-195407215.html

Basically it says that OK has been discovered to be in a previously unknown fault zone, the fracking is gonna upchuck at any moment and you're all gonna die.

Good luck with that.    :D

Of course if Oklahoma splits in half , well ... we are kinda in the middle . Hmm , maybe Texas will slide into the Gulf, and Kansas will get some mountains  ;D Seriously , more of an issue for Lowryter and Biking Sailor , I am 120 miles or so East of this mess , although it would be an inconvenience if a boat was needed to visit my family and friends in that part of Oklahoma  :o Frack it , the next few years won't be boring here in the Heartland .

You've got a damn submarine -- says so right there.  What's you complaining about?

Oh -- and "boring"?  are we at THAT level of pun now?

Says a man who lives on numerous fault lines.

I only have 5 active margins in my shake zone, and I'm always happy to report to you all that we're all gonna die, sometimes when the rocking and rolling makes it hard to sit at the computer.  I'm diligent that way.  Southeast is stable compared to the rest of Alaska, which had about 40,200 quakes last year.

We are proud of all our little faults (take THAT, punster!).  We even advertise them on maps and stuff.  We don't go around all sneaky saying there aren't any while simultaneously trying to cement them up with high-pressure slurry.  If they hadn't dramatically destroyed the town hall last week, OK would still be denying it.   :wife:

Hmm , earthquake tourism , that should bring the Easterners flocking to Okieland . "Watch as Oklahoma shakes rattle and rolls" . Picture all of the livestock moving around like the players on an electric football game . The dairy farmers will be producing ready made milk shakes .

You could have something there.  As I'm sure you know, Alaska doesn't do dairy farming anymore.  After reading the report of Alaskans consuming more ice cream per capita than anywhere else, they launched an investigation and discovered that between the quakes and the cold, the cows could only produce ice cream.  Rather than hang our head in shame for conspicuous consumption, the State sold off the herd.  OK doesn't have the cold, so it stands to reason that you'd have shakes instead.  Depending on what you put into the cows, you could get any number of flavors out.  The Alaska herd got fed snow, so we only produced vanilla.  Depending on transportation conditions, some was reprocessed en-route as rocky road.

And despite that other report, we no longer make salmon ice cream.  The focus group said it had more bones than they liked, and they could only digest it while moving against a current.

I don't think its THAT bad!  :D

It was supposed to be a Russian road and it looks like it was built over a tidal plain.

Trying to ride that with cast wheels and you'll probably FRACK the rims!  :D

Everyone thinks that only California and Alaska have earthquakes… Some of the strongest to hit the continental US happened in the early 1800s north of Memphis, TN, around New Madrid MO.

Given all of the unreinforced brick buildings in the central US, reruns could be ugly…

Yeah , remember the , er , experts, that predicted the "big one" at New Madrid MO circa 1987 . The press and many tourists gathered in the small town . The locals did manage to make a bit of money on the deal , and seemed to get a few laughs  :D
