Title: Sidestand for SPII
Post by: JayDee24ca on April 26, 2015, 09:56:43 AM
There was some commenton another thread regarding Brown side stands. Can anyone tell me if the Brown will in any way interfere with the lower fairing on an SPII? I'm tired of the bike being just on the verge of tipping over every time i use the original stand, and I will order a Brown so long as I don't need to do any modification to the bike.
Thanks!
JD

Check out my link. I'm the one that asked Boxerworks to undertake this project.  The stand bolts to the rear engine mount that runs through the tranny, and the left centerstand bolt.  Both need to be reversed and run in right to left so the threads screw into the stands mounting plate.

Not sure where your bodywork is mounted.  Got a pic?

Thanks Cam, that is the thread I tried to find earlier today; I knew I had seen pictures of the process a while ago. Looks as though there will be no concerns vis a vis bodywork on the SPII.
Thanks!

Can't comment on the bodywork on the SP but the brown sidestand was a good addition to my LMIII

Glad to help.  I just put one on my 850 LeMans too. Just call Nathan to see if he's got any left.  He's at the mercy of the Brown manufacturer for supply.

Won't be cheap, but neither is your bike's bodywork.  I also know of a local NJ Guzzi guy that has a new one he wont be using, and wants to sell it.  PM me for his contact info.
