I just saw a post one of our messages made and if my math is correct, this gentleman is 85 years young, or there about.
Out of curiosity and want to give a hats off to these motorcycle heroes, let’s take a survey, so we can honor these gentlemen.
Any members who are 75 and older and still riding, please identify yourselves so we can salute and tip our hats to you.

Yeah, I'm older than that. Have some "oldest rider" trophies.. I'll bet there are several on here. <snapping suspenders>

Maybe I’ll have the privilege to buy your lunch someday, Sir👍

76, still riding but had to give up my Audace, too heavy and awkward at this point in life. Replaced it with the Bonneville. MG just doesn't build anything to suit my touring needs.

A youngen at 68, still not in the OLD FARTS corral.

Turned 75 last April, haven't won an "oldest rider" yet. Had to sell my EV (weight & size) bought a new-leftover MP-3 500 scoot, after a couple years traded that for a '17 V7III Special, like it a lot, am modifying it to my needs/tastes. Still have my '74 Eldo (forever), and the '03 V11 Sport (reluctantly for sale).

I'm 79 and cutting my travel mileage per day this last few years. I certainly ride more slowly on curvy roads than I did, not that I was ever all that fast. I get along fine without a lot of horsepower, so I'm happy as can be with my V7. I sure as hell don't want to quit riding...

Might I add that Maynard bought my V7 Special 2 1/2 years ago and did a fly and ride. He left NJ and took the LONG way back to Denver. 2500 or so miles at 77 years young! I’m still impressed.

Seeing some of you guys still busting through the age Barrier give all us hope and a desire to take care of ourselves and follow along behind you.
I sure don’t mind being led👍

Does it count if I feel like 75 some mornings

Wow, I may be the 'youngest' rider here so far, at a mere 65!
That's a first!!

Honor and respect for our senior riders. You are an inspiration, and bring much motivation. I am honored to have inherited ohioriders 1200Sport and hope to be riding it for as long/same age as he did. That day is 15 years in my future.... #ibowinrespect
Keep at it! Coffee/Beer/Bourbon/lunch is on me if we cross paths.....

My last 2 BBG's were in '06. San Diego to Strafford, MO. 1600mi/22 hrs. Tucson to Hyannis, MA - ~2500mi/~44hrs.
I turned 87 a week ago. I had been hoping to get into Fred Marsh territory (100+), but that ain't gonna happen. R3~

Cheers to all of you! My lifelong goal has been to be a coot, a codger and/or a curmudgeon on a motorbike. You inspire me.

Having accomplished nothing of great importance in my first 84 years, I find myself rising to a position of prominence (at least on this forum) merely by rolling up the years. Strict attention to diet, exercise and a gritty, pugnacious attitude, bit of luck and good genetics have propelled me into a not quite doddering old timer. I proudly wear my red suspenders when on the Breva 750.
Surely, some member of this forum has me by a few years?

Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, as they say, I'll be 76 in a few weeks. While it's a chore sometimes to deal with the T, the only times I've dropped it is pushing it around the garage, it's till my favorite ride. The v65 is great on the gravel roads they have up here and is a lot easier to park, but I still prefer the T. Here's a pic after a hard ride in the White Mtns north of town. On a dog team, not a Guzzi!

It can be difficult for, mature age ladies and gentlemen, to admit they have a hero.
That being acknowledged and admitted, Sir your are formally my one of my new hero’s.
Keep up the fight against old age, Sir!!

78. Wife tells me I don't look a day over 80. I plan to ride for as long as possible, mostly on my '98 EV 1100. I really enjoy dual sport/adventure riding so I may pick up something light to do more of that.

Happy to be the "spring chicken" 60 years young.
J.N. Smyth was our "old guy" for middle America, (R.I.P.) He told me he had so many oldest rider award plaques he roofed his chicken coop with them.

79 coming up soon (Jan 2022.) It's been a good ride. Started on a buddy's bikes (Whizzer, Motobecane, Sears Allstate (Vespa,) and his Mustang scooter.) My own BSA came along in 1965. Dropped out of biking for several years until 1984. Picked up a 750 Virago, then on to BMW K bikes in 1986 for several years, along with my current R100GS.
The Guzzi part ...... a wonderful 2008 1200 Sport, purchased in 2010, and ridden until Bulldog took her over in 2020. There was a beautiful Griso 8vSE from 2012 thru 2015.
To repeat ...... it has been a good ride!

I an a young 66. The oldest rider that I knew that still traveled was JN Smith. He was somewhere around 90 when he did his last trip. A friend of my mother is 88 and still flies weekly and maintains his own plane (retired TWA mechanic).

Jass, let me know how you like the 750 DCT.
I looked hard for one in 2019 but couldn't find one. Only the std. trans. The bike itself felt a bit big and too tall for what it was but I understand they changed it a bit for 2021.
My bad left hand/thumb and short old legs relly limit my choices.

I'm really on the younger side at 48.
-
48? I think a survey on the "youngest" rider is in order.

Thanks for all the responses!
However just a reminder that the thread was intended to acknowledge our members 75 and up. And to give these ageless hero’s a tip of the helmet and buy their lunch anytime we can.

That really amazing Goose! You still appear to be a man in total control. The dog sled really is interesting to me. How about sometime posting some photos when you have the boys hitched up and ready to head out👍

Well I don't know about total control, after half a dozen surgeries in past few years for joint replacements and afib ablations, I'd say it's the health care industry that's in total control. I looked for some exciting photos of the dog team, but most of the recent stuff is not that great. But here's a pic out of video clip they shot of me when I was in the White Mtns north of town (couldn't get the movie to load)...
(https://i.ibb.co/NN9bKG5/WhMtDogs.jpg) (https://ibb.co/NN9bKG5)
The photo was used in a brochure they published about the White Mtns; it was my one shot at being locally word famous...

Anyway, there's lots of recent pics on the blog, just enter sled dogs into the search box...

Hi Vagrant
Took me a long time to find my bike as well. Honda supplied very few bikes this year. Most California dealers got just one DCT version. I live in the SF Bay Area and ended up buying my bike in Portland. The 2021 bikes are lower than previous years by about 30 mm. Honda figured out that owners weren't taking their bikes off road so no point in higher ride height. Lots of other changes too, such as ride by wire throttle, etc. 2022 bikes (when they get here) will be identical to 2021 from what I've read. I've got hand problems as well, Dupruytens. The DCT set up very well for me.
Go luck in your search!

I am 66, retired last year at 65 from the corporate rat race...although I must say it has been lucrative and allowed me to enjoy life, cars, MC's ect. I am so glad to be done...

Seeing the ages here of your hero’s especially above 75 makes me realize at 67 I’ve got a few more good years ahead of me Thanks
-
You can ride for as many years as you feel safe in doing so. You may, at some point, need a more appropriate MC.
I never favored heavy bikes, but have had a few. 2 VFR's, RG500 Gamma, ----. I've also ferried many big bikes for those that could not find pleasure stuffing big miles to their 'vacation spot'.
You may need to adjust you're attitude. You can get in a whole lotta hurt managing a heavy bike - and it will not be fun. Most all of my bikes have been sport bikes. I've had an Aprilia RS125 for many a years. A 2 stroke weighing less than 300# wet. 2 more teeth on the rear sprocket and it can still break 100. Outstanding brakes and handling. More fun than that barrel of monkeys' we hear about.
BTW: A few laps on a rowing machine will help keep the creeks and groans @ bay.
BTWII: Almost all of my C2C and many in between trips, have been on 2 SV650S Suzuki's - w/Ventura luggage.
If you're going out for a day or two wear a small collapsible back pack for possible incidentals you'll find along the way.. Good fortune, R3~
