Stone bars on Jackal question
« on: April 27, 2015, 08:58:53 AM »
Hve a nice set of Stone handlebars coming for the Jackal. Does the switch gear - kill switch, directionals, etc fit the new bars?

Remind me, were the Stone bars fatter at the middle (1") and then tapered at the ends.

If so I think the controls and all will fit, but you may need new risers/clamp.

Early Stones had regular 7/8" bars, like the Jackal.  Later Stones had the fat bars.

In both cases, the ends of the bars are made for 7/8" controls, so there will be no issue there.

As Kev noted, if you have ordered fat bars, you will need the specific bar clamp for them.  The 7/8" bar clamp of the Jackal will not work.

I can't take credit for either. The bracket is stock 03 Stone and it's a GPS speedo from Speedhut.  It fits right in the stock bracket. If you look at the brake master cylinder, that's the GPS antenna! Here's a couple of closer shots.

There could be a clearance problem putting the m/c from skinny bars onto a fat bar.
