THRASHED AGAIN
« on: August 15, 2015, 05:21:13 AM »
Done over by the Kiwis again, we were. You all know what I'm talking about. Rugby. Can't blame Quade Cooper either. Outclassed in all aspects of the game but our scrums weren't bad. The All Blacks must have some mental atitude that drives them to retaliate when they concede a try, which converts to striking back by winning a match when they lose a game. If only we knew what it was

I was in Oz when the boys in gold whupped us.  My in-laws were very gracious and didn't gloat (much).  I was a bit concerned for the first half hour,  and thought they were playing much the same as before; then the turbo seemed to kick in and I shouted myself a whisky to celebrate.

Pity the Thunder didn't want to release Steven Adams for the basketball Dusty,  we will need all the help we can get when we play the Ozzies.

About 30 years ago I heard ( from a Kiwi) that they  consistently beat the pants off the Aussies playing rugby.Being ignorant of the whole thing I took the statement with a grain of salt...maybe the bloke wasn't lying after all...

Basketball......... ...Sheesh!
I have this vision of a compulsive gambler, who in trying to get even after losing badly, reaches out desperately for a quick "hit", anything to make a killing to get square again.
But.....no, not going there, not contemplating any alternate sources of sporting triumph in case they too, lead to disaster.

Enjoy the whiskey Muzz  :thumb:

And here I was about to start a thread about order and equilibrium being restored to the universe. Revenge was certainly metered out and things are back to the way they should be.

All Blacks 41, Wallabies 13.

(I notice that we also cleaned up the Ozzies in the World Cup Netball series)

Hey still made the finals,  took it to the Aussies and made them sweat it, well done the Silver Ferns.
Still done good in my book.

I was referring to the previous game against the Ozzies. Just came on to update that. Pity that the 1st game the silver Ferns lost was the final.
