While perusing classified ads here in Italy, I came across this one and can't seem to find much info on the 750 SP model. Anyone here know much about them?

Thanks. I had seen a similar spec sheet that also featured the brief commentary at the end in somewhat fractured English-- I think the original was in Dutch. But, still haven't come across any riding reviews and just wondered what the consensus was on this model.

Knowing what I know about the fully-faired SP III, I would think that it might be a little cramped for taller, long-legged American-sized riders.

Ahhhhh, 6'2" here.... Have so far been concentrating on big blocks, but the unusualness (at least to me) of the 750 SP caught my eye (well, OK< the price was pretty low...)

Is that a Lario motor?

No, just the standard two valve 750.
-
Well, Cyclespecs lists it as a 4 valve motor. Not usre if it has the same issues as the Lario.

According to Fallon, the 750 is a development of the Lario engine providing more torque and about the same horsepower with a not too shabby top speed of 117 mph.Probably can’t expoert it but a pretty 421 lb bike.Wish I could go to Tuscany and ride it.How much are they asking?
-
My mistake- it is a four valve motor.
-
The shape of the rocker cover is the same as my V50 III - 2 valves per cylinder, Heron head.

Hmmm, I was correcting myself based on all the spec sheets ... There are two for sale that I know of. I can try to ask the one guy if he knows about the engine but there's no telling if he knows....

Spec. sheets aren't always correct, I've found that they're full of "cut and paste" information from other models.
The bike shown in your lead photo has Heron-head rocker covers, not 4 vpc. rocker covers.
2 vpc, Heron head:

4 vpc.

Thanks Charlie. I'll definitely very to get confirmation from one of the owners of the bikes for sale here. At the moment, we're a bit tied up hosting a small group on our rooftop terrace. Back to Guzzi shopping tomorrow!

Here's a photo of the other 750 SP currently for sale and given Charlie's comments/photos above, it seems to be a 2 valve motor. I've written to the guy for clarification and will post back here if I get a response.

TheSP has the 2 valve engine.,developed 46 hp.TheGT has the 4 valve ,according to Colombo. How much are they asking and how complicated would it be to buy it and then ride to Mandello then resell?I assume you can’t get it into the US.
-
The guy is asking 3,200 (euros but the euro has fallen a lot lately so almost the same as USD). I'm not sure how you go about buying as a non-resident. Italian bureaucracy can make the strongest man cry...
-
That sounds reasonable,I have a friend who owns property over there ,I may run it by him.Ill look at the map to see how to get to Mandello.Ireally like the one with the luggage.Would you be willing to checkout the bike?
