1977 Moto Guzzi Convert Find
« on: August 08, 2020, 08:28:44 AM »
I found this 1977 Moto Guzzi Convert un-sold on eBay. I made the owner an offer and its mine at a more than fair price. I lot of work to do this winter but looking forward to sorting it out. I tried to load a picture but it seems I'm doing something wrong. OK I guess it worked, sorry I'm new at this.

I didn't know that Convert was on ebay. I was trying to contact the owner in Illinois via Facebook since last week about it but got no response. Congratulations.

Congratulations!  My Convert has been waiting patiently for me to get to it for 15 years.   :embarrassed:  But I have been collecting parts for it over the years.  I will get to it this winter!   :whip2:

Congratulations on your find. Is it a runner, a parts bike or something you plan to restore? In 1978, a silver 1977 Convert with a matching Vetter fairing was my first Guzzi. I loved it and ended up buying two more.

I also just bought another Convert in pretty similar condition and plan to restore.

Both bikes are 76 and happily with Borrani rims.

OH NOooooo!  Don't do it.....good luck on the unit you put in.  QC has been up & down with modules.  Carry the pts/breaker plate with you on long rides.

Thanks again to everyone for the kind reply's and information on the Convert.  I'm a sucker for any old Moto Guzzi and the convert is one that's been on my to have list. I'm very much looking forward to working on it. I found a V1000 G5 in Kentucky and that one is in line after the Nuovo then the Convert. The G5 is in pretty nice shape and runs already but needs carb cleaning and... well we will see. I'm sure it wants more. :)
