As of now, Cookie and I are planning to leave Seattle a week early and go down to ride the North half of the PCH (until we get to the closure), then double back to Susanville.JJ, I look forward to a frosty adult beverage with you.Bill Lovelady ISEskimo Spy
My butt already "aches" looking at this...but it should be an adventure, no doubt...

Bill, the Big Sur highway closure is supposed to end over the next two weeks. By the end of April. You should be able to do the whole thing in advance of the rally. Instead of looping back, there are some terrific ways to cross back over the coastal mountains and return north without retro-routing. Let me know if you would like further coastal routing advice. Heck, you might even want to stay with us.Patrick HayesFremont CA
I think myself and oneother. Guzzi rider will make it
"the pursuit of happiness." not a guarantee that you'll find it. Ride to find it.
To me the ride is more important. The actual going from A to B. The B gives you a direction. The "road" creates memories that you can't buy.
Unfortunately I live an hour and half from Susanville and go there often so the ride there will be "been there done that". But hanging out with a bunch of motorcyclists will be well worth "enduring" the short trip. But I will be doing some longer rides this summer. Planning on Broken Arrow. Looking forward to a great weekend. kk
Must be the local transplants known as "Haole" or whites. "no breath" people. Kanaka ma oli (Native Hawaiian) their outlook is their island is home so no such feeling of "rock fever". My wife has finally settled in on the Big Island as being home. She doesn't miss the congestion of Honolulu. Both of our families are on Oahu. We miss family but not the craziness of that island.
We are getting snow 5,000' and above tomorrow. Never know what can happen in the Sierra.kk[/quoteTake some photos!! A buddy of mine is in Ouray, CO and he sent me photos of snow on top of the Rockies!!
