Keene is far enough away from Laconia that I wouldn't worry about finding a room close by. Even so, I'd book fairly early just to be safe. Me, I'll be bringing my tent so it doesn't really matter. Be prepared for rain, though. My memories of Laconia have it raining at least one day during the rally every year I went.
Very Exciting! It's a stone's throw from me. There are plenty of good roads too. Lannis is absolutely right about the I95 corridor from NY and through CT. Just awful (not to mention dangerous). Steer well West and run from PA into upstate NY then hang a left.
It might be better if he hangs a right; unless you don't want him making it to the Rally. ;)
Gonna figure out a nice route there that doesn't include where Mapquest or Google Maps wants to send me up through the nightmare I-95 corridor from Virginia. I'll swing west a bit and enjoy the scenery!Lannis
Dang it! I would be tempted to see if you'd let me follow you up, but as of a couple of months ago I'm committed to a ride to Alaska in June with some other local guys. Even if I could massage my schedule, I couldn't afford 2 trips that long in one summer. Maybe next year...
Next year, it's going to be in Oregon..
DUH!I keep forgetting- it's the hand i eat my cereal with.
So, what I guess you're saying is that I should postpone my Alaska adventure until the next year so I can hit Oregon either on the way up or back - or both :)
. . . Or don't do it in June. I live here and I wouldn't choose June just for a cruise around the state. . . . June has its moments, and most of them are rainy.
There's the Dust-2-Dawson NAR up at Dawson City over the solstice.
How did a thread about next year's National turn into a travelog of somebody's trip to Alaska?
jumpmaster said:"Well, when WOULD be the best month for a motorcycle visit? The conventional wisdom amongst my friends in Maryland who have ridden to Alaska is that June is better than later in the summer. Rain is better than snow or ice..."And as I made a trip to Alaska in June, what better way than pictures of rain, snow and sunshine. ;D :BEER:Matt
