Polish up those side medallions to near mirror and put them back on!

The red frame is what attracted me to a Stornello.  The high exhaust took away that attraction.

Your bike with the red frame and brightwork looks really nice!

And cover up my small Italian flag emblems?  My pie plates are staying in my Pantry.. :laugh:Pie plates will go back on if I return it' to stock trim

It's funny a blue frame appeals to me a bit more. but not going to happen with this unit

As your bikes are.. We have similar tastes, that is for sure.. Main difference is I don't quite put in as much sweat equality into mine as you do into your machines.. I would of did my Breva with wire wheels, and the like, but sometimes just timing is all off or funds/whatever.. This one has to go back stock, just because it is a Stornello, but it does not mean I can;t ride it the way I want it in the mean time..

Thanks to al for the kind words. Might not be your cup of tea, but just added to a few things I thought Guzzi sort of missed in a V-7 version.

The guy that said Stornello, and Racer had a baby is exactly what i was after.. Something  Moto-Guzzi might of thought up along the way. They got kind of close though..

That makes me want to deliver my Stornello from its ADV parts back to this setup. Need to dump the 705's though. Perhaps one day, I have a few trips I want to take on it the next few years.

Bellissimo...

I think letting it loose in it's natural environment suits it better.. Suits me better anyway.. 60 degree + day was nice for sure.. Shake down run and even the Sport demons worked pretty well.. I am going to burn them up for sure..

If I may express an opinion ?
What you have done is what I hope I would have thought of it it were mine. I think the bling is nicely distributed across the bike.
I’d like to ask, do you intend to “brighten” the side covers ?
The rest of the bike absolutely “pops” now and the black in the centre of the image seems flat (by comparison..).

The side covers are aluminum too..but just not sure if i want to strip them or not..  The aluminum pie plate covers might go back on, but just not sure about that either..two other options are some racer type in a silver or paint. Just staying black for the moment, because it does not really bother me. Too much bright might? I will wait for a deal first..

The one thing is I have to be able to return it to 100% stock form, so not modifying anything Stornello. The covers are one off parts. so no real messing with them too much. It's why I don't want to polish the side plates. It will mess with the laser engraving..

After the weekend ride I had on my V85, I feel that our relationship has been consummated to some degree.
Now that I’ve seen yours, I’m starting to think...
“Brand X replica with V85 front end...
Could someone photoshop this

I can't help with the Photoshop, but can offer some info on side covers for mine..

This gives me options without dicking up my stock Stornello stuff.. I think I will find some Italian flag  stickers, just for the place where the racer decals went..

As a graduate from the Army's Command and General Staff College I am a highly trained PowerPoint ranger :-)

Made them up a couple years ago and laser printed them on vinyl sheet stickers and then topped with that clear headlight cover stuff

I am thinking just use some paint with fine line pin stripe tape ,and make my tri-color flag fit the funny opening in the covers..  I have a vinyl cutting attachment for my plasma table, and I could cut out something if needed.. Although a razor knife would probably do as well..

I only bought the side covers because they are kind of limited in supply, and best jump on it. I only have the headlight grill, and new mini tail box, then this thing is done..

Your bike has a metal look to it. The black covers look good but need something metallic affixed to them. This will mesh with the metallic look and also the black will bring the bling back a subtle amount.
It looks great..

With the new covers I can play around a bit with things.. I have some Sem trim black that looks really good over using the factory anodized black panels.Right now just need to bolt up the covers when they show, and see what it looks like.. The racer with the holes, and knock out will help, but I still want my Italian colors on them.. I will have all winter to mess with it.. (if it shows that is...

Done,
used some Scrap SS that was bent with a flange on both sides. I had to straighten in my press to gain enough length to use the factory bolt holes. (no mods on this stuff) I think it added something a bit different.

Really this Guzzi without all the plastic pieces of modern bikes stands out well.. It's nice to have Steel/SS/Aluminum of all the bit parts.. If i wanted Plastic, man there is sure of a lot to pick from Real metal, not so much..

OK,now for the Stornello light version
This is the first version I had in my mind when I picked up the bike.. Racer aluminum side covers, non painted rims.. This  look screams old school to me..
