Grandson's first ride!
« on: May 14, 2018, 10:18:50 AM »

I was 8 for my first ride on my uncle's BSA 500 in 1966. The hook was set. Grandson will be 9 in July, time was running short. Mom (daughter) has been reluctant to allow it. So I send grandson up from the garage donning helmet and glasses, comes back Mom says you need pants...reasonable. Desperate because of her not saying no, we head for the shed. In a box is my Trials riding gear. Knee pads, pants with hip armor, elbow pads and gloves. All geared up, I send him up to Mom and Grammy in the kitchen making a baby shower list. Just can't say no to that! Yes! Get back and Mom asks how was it? Grandson says "It was awesome!". Yeehaw!

Got to talking a bit and in the conversation my grandson says, "I wish I could have ridden the Moto Guzzi", yeah, me too bud .

Good times, you're not letting time go by without Doing!

Introduced both my sons to bikes when they were about 8.   One is an enthusiastic biker today, the other is not.   All you can do is introduce them!

That's cool!  Grandpas can't say no to their grandkids so it looks like another Guzzi might have to be in your future! :thumb:

Well done. Much the same as me. Son turned out a motorcyclist. Grandsons, well one quite likes them but loves his V8 Holden a lot more. Likes riding the quad and the mini chopper. Other not interested at all. Eldest granddaughter loves the quad and would love to go on the bike. Papa says no.

The dog (Cooper) and my grandson are the same age. Cooper's a veteran rider with approx. 35,000 miles under his collar, a large majority of those miles on the Norge. He lays down out of the way as soon as we get moving.

That V85 looks awesome  but... with an inseam of only 28" the jury is out. I have not been able to find specs on seat height yet. Also the tank has to be Cooper friendly .
