Glad you got it sorted. They usually STOCK had one big ground wire to batt & 2 wires to Batt positive, big black & small black, that's all.

happy to hear that you didn't have black wire connected to red wire and black wire spliced into the middle of red wire like I had on the V1000 I bought earlier this year from a certain tech editor of a certain Italian motorcycle club. 

What a disaster that bike is and not just electrically.  I spent 35 hours, including 8 with a friend who is an aircraft mechanic, getting the wiring to an adequate level and the battery to charge.
