For 20K he should have listed it on bring a trailer.  Fee would be only $99 but he would have had to post dozens of pictures....

I believe that Cam knows this guy.

Maybe I'm wrong, but there is something suspect about the space with the shadow circle below the clocks and I'm wondering if there was something added to cover the hole from a new clock holder.  Trying to find an original clock holder is quite difficult.

I think it is an orginal instrument bezel.

picture from an orignal 77 LeMans

replacement bezel with the knock out hole open,

the LeMans originals have a casting for the knock out on the underside, I think the circle you are seeing is the casting telegraphing through the plastic

I know the bike and the owner, having bought my Matchless from him.  I was out there over Christmas and heard it (the Lemans) run.  It was a very nice example. It’s been sold, but the owner just picked up another very nice 850 Lemans 1 and a Lemans 1000 along with two gorgeous Bultaco Metralla vintage racers.

The switches are NOT original.

For the price this Lemans sold for I would expect the proper switch gear but perhaps I am asking too much.  Correct switches are very hard to come by.  I was very lucky to find the correct units for mine as the originals were a mess.

Ebay bike

Correct switch gear.

I know the first eBay bike as Greg is a friend, but the second photo of the LeMans is not the same auction.

The LeMans Greg just picked up was owned by a guy who was installing a new wiring harness on the bike in his kitchen and he dropped dead from a heart attack.

I think JJ has muddied the waters a bit.      He has referenced 2 eBay Lemans in the same thread just to confuse us!   :boozing:

This Lemans is a whole order of magnitude better than the first one that started this thread.  And has all the correct bits including switches.

Dave,
Yes, finding those original switches is not easy and when they do appear on eBay they are not cheap. I was lucky with my bike as it came with two sets of switches so I’m keeping a set as back up but I did install Greg Benders bank of relay’s to protect those switches, etc.
